Top Speed
Hey Jet..welcome to the site... I'll be nice and not flame you...but most basic questions have been asked a bunch of times and can be found using the glowing search button at the top of the page. A search for top speed will provide lots of reading material. The cars are electronicaly limited to 125 for manuals. It's less for autos. Some people say they have been faster with mods but they are either BSing or they have speedo error due to different sized tires. Welcome again and use that search button...it will be your best source for answers.
I have a road test on the 2001 EX coupe 5 speed where it was stated as top speed 127 mph drag limited - was not governor limited. They use calibrated test equipment for the testing so I would have a tendency to believe their results.
Have read later reports on the LX sedan where the top was governor limited - if I remember correctly 113 mph.

Honda intentionally limited our cars to 125mph because they enjoy civic owners being the laughing stock of town...O well I rentend a Metro once that topped out at 85.

I've gotten my 01 up to about 133 and my 03 to about 127ish. I don't think that the EX is electronically limited. I get to 120 easily then it's a bit of a struggle after that.
thats a lie it isnt electronically stopped at 125mph, ive been up over 135mph in mine with just i/h/e, nearly went to 140mph but ran out off road, the rpm was at like 6500 so i know i cant go more than like 140

You'd know if the car was electronically limited, because when you hit a certain speed, your fuel would cut off, and then it'd slow down to a lesser speed...
Now if you had bigger wheels, you're speedo would be off but it would still cut out at the same time...
From what i've heard, there is not fuel cut off on our cars, you can always double check the manual, and see, if it is goverend, it will say. As far as how fast you can theoretically go, The DX and LX's 5th gear will top redline when you're going about 150 (though it will be drag limited way before this)
The EX will redline at about 140ish, and the HX will redline at about 175
Note on all three, the car will be drag limited, since it has no where near enough power to go these speeds. The amount of HP it takes to go any speed will increase at an exponential rate, so, for example it takes all of the 911 gt3's power (385) to got 180MPH... then it's drag limited, while the RUF ctr2, can go about 200, and it has somehwhere around 600 HP...
These numbers aren't exact by any means, I'm just going off of what I remember...
