But as you can see basically all the Type R parts, no badge.

Honestly I don't know why people think that making a car look JDM is cool.
If it has the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car, it's not JDM. haha... It's nice to see though that people can get amazingly close to JDM specs.
Customizing cars has been a fad ever since after market parts were cheap enough to afford (I'm saying the late 20's). JDM looking cars are customized cars that have a common theme because there are actual cars that they look like.

nothing beats paying high dollar so you can look stock in another country.
"I spent $5,000 on this civic!!"
"uh.. I dont see the $5,000..."
"exactly!"
(okay maybe there's a right hand drive configuration in that civic but sheesh)
I always wonder if there's a USDM trend going on in Japan..
probably not.
anyway some people dig it, I think its silly. most of the time.

Heh, i'll throw my 2 cents in and see what I spark.
I like the JDM style, whether its Style or Performance..
Whether you agree with me or not, you probably have something in mind thats JDM related, whether it be a ' replica ' of something or ' style '.
I like the JDM style because of the uniqueness of your car, Not everyone can have a car that is clean and only seen in other countries as being stock and, by far it's original styling, (CTR, ITR, Ferio RS).
Disagree with me or not, this I believe is my reason for being a JDM enthusiast,
I hate Neons. I hate Double deck wings that are not even useful going on the highway flapping at 60 mph, That is not tuning, that's rice. I'm not all about looking good or feeling fast in my car cause everyone can hear and see me with my lights and loud bomb exhaust..
I live in such a area where only those types of people exist.
Not only that, but the parts we have here made in America are pretty unique themselves, which I think people in Japan are laughing their asses off when they see a new body kit made by Wings West or APC, which both companies don't depend on track experience but on how much money they can make off them.
Instead, i'd rather choose to make my car something which is relevant, a counterpart or even a direct decendent of my car. I just believe JDM is more about tuning than just showing off, the reasoning for the creation of the RS may be to have a more sporty look for the car, which would appear unique anywhere else where the car doesn't get exported to. People may not care to notice or maybe even like some things about it, but who cares, people who JDM tune their cars aren't out there to win import showoff prizes or stick out in the crowd, their there to be clean and unique.
It's just my 2 cents,

I can't even go JDM with my ride....the 1.7EL doesn't exist there. They have the (previous gen) 1.6EL there as the Civic Domani though. Then again, I get at least one email a week from an American who wants my front end or trunk.
