failed DIY!

As some know, I did the door panel DIY that ALLMAN came up with. Well, the white vinyl I used has since been ruined by the sun. It's already discoloring after a month, and the rain got on the ones in front and left water marks. Some parts have a yellowish tint. My windows are not tinted, so I think it's sun damage. Oh well. I'm in the process of gluing back the stock fabric. Sucks!!

Yeah, sounds like poor quality fabric or something along those lines. Just glew on better fabric this time..

sounds like it was the material...the proper vinyl shouldnt fade for a few years

yeah I had that happen on my last car. White is hard to find good quality material sometimes. All I did was change material and it lasted for 3yrs before I got rid of the car. good luck

Anyone ever think of clear coat.

Spraying some on the fabric vinyl before you put it on to give it a protective coat. I think they might make something like that for fabrics, and if not, what would be bad about using regular clear coat to protect it from water and UV.
