im the same as R3DL1N3, im only 16 and im gonna keep my civic pry for another 5 or 6 years, and i think i do have the nices looking car in my school exept for the ppl who have the muscle cars like the SS Chevelle and 65 impala

heh, i thought i'd keep the civ for 5 years too. then i dumped a bunch of money into bodykit, rims, system, etc. then i ditched it. heh

well i guess im spoiled because of my disability settlement paying enough for 4 car payments or 2 nice car payments....although its not my parents giving me the money so maybe im not spoiled....anyhow, I pay my bills, my wifes bills and my sons bills and who cares if your spoiled or not. Just be grateful for what you have no matter who got it for you. Jesus gives us eternal life for free so I guess we are all spoiled!!! Our lives can change in the blink of an eye or be taken away completely just as quick!

my brother gave me the civic, parents wudnt let me buy a car with my money. parents pay for my insurance and thats about it, but i work for them at their dry cleaners all day saturdays, and also during school vacations. i hafta pay for gas, maintence, car goodies, school, food, and other stuff with money i make from tutoring and other ways of making money.

i dont think that im spoiled, but i consider myself to be lucky tho cuz i have a car and a roof over my head which is already a lot more than wut other people have.

as for haters i think they shud go to hell. just because some people have a lot of money, or drive cars that they dont deserve, its not fair to key their car, egg their house, or wutever. yea of course we're gonna feel a little jealousy whenever someone drives by in a m3 or sumthin, but no reason to hate. even if the kids dont deserve it, someone in their family had to work their *** off for it at some time. i get thta sometime cuz when people learn i live in a city notorious for being full of rich *** ppl. my parents started out with nothing, just a couple of fobs new to america and sharing a trailer home with a mexican family. from nothing they ended up where they are now, and people like that i think deserve everything, and thats i try to get by myself and not ask them to do me favors. hopefully i can pay my way through college without their money, and so later i can say i earned my own way, my life is what i created it to be and that my parents didnt just buy me a life.

throughout high school, my dad wouldnt let me get a job, and its killing my chances of employment now. my parents bought me my vic as a grad present, and pay insurance, as well as gas. for all the goodies i want on my car, i have to buy it myself using money that i get as gifts and for doing jobs like putting up ceiling fans in relative's homes and whatnot. i guess i am kinda spoiled, but after a while, i got sick of the mooching off parents and stuff and not being able to get a job, so i joined the navy. i ship out on monday for boot camp. if yer gonna hate on me for getting my car, gas, and insurance from my parents, just think about what i'm gonna do in the very near future and realize that i'm sacrificing the use of my civic (for a little while) and my comfort living level mooching off my parents to serve this country

edit: by the way, i got word (from my sister) that my step-mom wants to get rid of my car as soon as i leave for boot camp, so i'm gonna let my sister take care of it til i can grab it again..

I know a few people with M3's, Corvettes, etc and are in their late teens, and I wouldn't consider them spoiled because they appreciate everything they get. I also know a few spoiled bastards with Civics, Accords and old BMW's. It's the attitude that makes you spoiled.

i had a shitty car until i was 21( by the way i got a job when i was 12 to save up until i was 16 to pay for a car)
when i turned 21 i got my vic and i had to absolutley BEG my mom and dad to co signing for me for like 4 months. i've had to buy everything from toilet paper to mods fro my car since i got my job at 12.
it kinda makes me feel really good at the end of the day to buy all of my own ****.( that is after i get back from my full time job and college and licensing classes for being a stockbroker in 2 months!)

put it this way. It's a part of life. Some kids are spoiled and they're never happy, even when they get an expensive car. I grew up in an area like many of you. Kids in high school drove fancy cars and were spoiled, while my parents have some money they would not buy me a car. Not till college was I able to afford a car on my own. I was resentful about my parents cause my friends all drove nice cars, but now I see their point. They wanted me to work for things I wanted. I respecet them now, more than ever. Not until my last year of college, I managed to have enough money for my civic. Sure I wanted a WRX, but I couldn't afford it and the civic fell into my lap cause of the $$$.

I wouldnt say that I am spoiled, but I am truly TRULY blessed. I dont have a lot, but I am thankful for all that I have. I work hard for the little I do have and and just makes me sick when theives, haterz, or lil ****** try to mess up or take whats yours.

i understand how those of you who work a whole lot and have had to pay for EVERYTHING yourself since you were young. i think that's good, in a way. but i have friends that are in the same boat and they are just miserable. well maybe thats not the word, but they are just so stressed out. i work w/a girl that drives an 81 malibu. she is pretty much poor. she works every single day as a cashier and also goes to college on mwf. the malibu died out, so she had to find a new engine for it. finally they got it working, and the next day at work we were talking about it and she says "yeah and i rotated the tires on it yesterday." now when any of us here that, we assume they brought it to some tire place to rotate them. at least thats what i thought. BUT SHE ROTATED THEM HERSELF!! now some of you might do that, but im just not familiar w/doing that yourself. anyway, so my point is that this girl is not spoiled, but she is just so stressed out about having to work to pay for every single thing, plus college and everything else. she is not living at home because her dad died and her mom is insane (seriously). there's not really a point to this story i guess, but i dont think people like her are "getting ready for the real world" by having to pay for every single thing since they were young. she just turned 19. and she is more stressed out than a 39 year old. now me, i know i wont be ready for the real world, and im 19. my parents do too much for me as it is. (but i dont consider myself spoiled about my civic, as i said on the first page).
