Thats a beautiful interior.
Problem nowadays with cars is that people always compare them to other cars that look vaguley the same. Even though this car may look like a composite of 5 other cars, so is everything else on the road.
And I'll bet that that 2.3 litre block has a lot of potential tucked away in it. And would probably respond really well to FI. But thats just conjecture.

I am seriously considering trading in my 03 for it. Good handling and brakes, cool looking interior/exterior, nice 160HP/150 TQ. My ONLY question is reliability; we'll see when it comes out.

Innovative? I think they just designed the same damn car twice and cut 3 feet off it! Are those the same tails as on the RX-8? They look similar.

Rep Power: 0 that interior is sweeeeeet! please does it come in a 2 door and i wouldnt mind looking at the hatch back model. the colors on the speedo and tach are awesome. It just scares me that ford is in business with mazda, I dont want to drive a time bomb so that they can make a fortune off me in replacement parts. if it truly is made and designed in japan maybe there is hope. still wont buy the first year of a new model though ..... just asking for trouble when you do that.

Rep Power: 0 man is it just me or does it seem like honda is standin in a rut with their stuff compared to others like mazda? i mean really their cars are lookin better and better ever year and they're more powerful than ours. hell some companies you can get superchargers and stuff and have them under warranty.

Rep Power: 0 tony_buttons, Mazdas aren't lame at all, are you nuts? The RX-7, RX-8, Renesis Engine, Miata, 929 (91-present), 323 GT, the list goes on, they've put out some insanely good cars and the quality is umatched. Ford may have a stake in the company, but I don't believe any parts of design is shared, this car obviously has nothing to do with the Focus.

Looks pretty good I guess but definately not sleek enough for me. It kinda reminds me of a Jetta and a Corolla squished into one design. If this is replacing the Protege I think Mazda is taking a step in the wrong direction.
