I've never heard of this trim before.
Ignore the messed up color. When I convereted it to a .gif it messed up the colors.

The Civic VP Coupe:
The Civic Value Package sports a powerful 115-hp, 1.7-liter, SOHC 4-cylinder engine. Plus, it features air conditioning, center console & armrest, and CD Player. An Immobilizer Theft-Deterrent System and available front side airbags help to protect both you and your new Civic. REPLACES THE COUPE DX.
Civic Sedan VP:
The Civic Value Package sports a powerful 115-hp, 1.7-liter, SOHC 4-cylinder engine. Plus, it features air conditioning, center console & armrest, and CD Player. An Immobilizer Theft-Deterrent System and available front side airbags help to protect both you and your new Civic.
(Value Package for Sedan is only available with an automatic transmission)
DOES NOT REPLACE DX. VP IS BETWEEN DX AND LX.

When the batt. is disconnected from the CD player, the cd player can not function. If the battery dies you just use the 4-digit code and the cd player/radio will work like normal.

The immobilizer uses the chip key so no one else can start the car.
The CD has nothing to do with it, but it has a "Theft deterrant" feature using the code. Like a lot of radios now.

Yuup! so no one can make copies and start your car up. Have to go to Honda to get the key if lost, then those electronics ppl will put the code into the chip in the key. Have to do this if you plan to swap out the engine I think.....
yeah they have the VPs out here, its been out here since Feb of this year as a matter of fact even the Mazda 6 was out here Kuwait gets all the cars out here before we do even the domestic cars are out here before the states puts them out
you know about the immobilizer thing, my friend lost his key so he called up honda to get a new one. all they did was ask for his VIN number and he can go pick it up.
i dunno that sounds scary, i mean i can goto a parking lot, check out the VINs and then get a key that will let me drive the car away.

my friend with her integra Type R had her car stolen from her driveway, she had immobilizer, obviously didnt work.
When you start you car, look at the green key flashing on the dash, if you put a different key in there, it will flash green then red and the car will basically shut down.

The car wont start at all. The immobilizer dissables the fuel pump. when you try to start it without the right key, it just turns over and turns over. never firing.

I still think even the lowest end model should come with power windows.
If their marketing strategy was to keep it power windowless so the customer would buy the next level up, then Honda's stupid. Power windows should be base in all cars regardless of model.
