Integra Type R
Integra Type R
Anyone wanna throw out a lil history on the car. I co-worked of mine had a yellow one that was stolen from her driveway (sucks) but she now has a new Audi A4 1.8T with Quattro. I mean whats the specs and why such a rare car, just curious.

are RSX-S faster then ITRs? depends on what type of racing. Drag race?? I dont know Nither car was built for this. Road Race/autocross..... ITR is still faster (Its what it was built to do afterall).
SCCA SOLO 2 classifies both the Integra-R and the RSX-S in D-Stock. right now the best cars for D-Stock are Integra Type R and BMW 330ci. Other cars in this class are WRX, Lexus IS300, Eagle Talons, Sentra Spec-V, audi S4, Preludes... ect.... Top 5 cars in the Tire Rack National Championship was either an Integra-R or a BMW 330.

THere are a lot of cars out there that I feel are over rated. such as the Supra, RX7, NSX and Skyline. all great cars but definitly Over Hyped over here. The Integra Type R was built for road racing, and It does it very well. as far as being over Rated?? Maybe, probably more like Over Hyped. for a FWD platform It does Very well, ushually High performance and FWD arn't uttered in the same sentence.

For those of you that are "less than impressed" with the type-R integra, go drive one. I have never had the chance myself. BUT, I did own a 98 GSR. That GSR was a pretty nasty ride. It had "good" acceleration. The motor loved to spin up to it's 8,000 rpm redline and it pulled pretty hard. The real performance of the car was it's handling and braking. It was very well balanced and you could push it right up to the limits. Once you exceded the limits the tires broke loose in a very predictable and controlable way. Fly up towards a highway ramp at, let's say, 130MPH and lay on the brakes- the ABS and awesome stopping power would real the car right in. I gave plenty of friends "white nuckles" with that car. Now remember, the GSR has plenty of luxury in it. It has leather interior and a sunroof etc.
The type-R is everything I described above WITH an extra 30HP, reduced weight, higher rigidity ratings and a MORE dialed in suspension.
Is it the "end all be all" of performance cars? NO. Does it deserve respect? YES.

type R = Gsr with solid motor, really solid motor. not that the b18c isnt solid, but the b18c5 is damn smooth.
also, any b series motor beneifts from type r parts, sometimes moreso than aftermarket stuff

Titanium Metallic. You got a problem with that?

ITR = Integra Type R
Its an over rated car, but compared to normal hondas and acuras, its a supercar. Its really nice in its own right, and made even rarer becuase they didnt make a lot of em. Supposed to be only 1500 a year.

The ITR would interms of FWD sport compacts is the car I would get for that catagory. I have yet to ride in an ITR but I did ride in a 5th gen Civic HB that has a B18C5 (ITR's engine) in it. The sound of the engine reving through the RPM is awesome. VTEC at one of its finer moments.
