help with friends car pls!!!!!
ok heres the deal, a friend of mine bought a 1984 Toyota celica GT coupe for $400, had it inspected at a local shop and said that the valves need to be replaced and it would be around 600-900$ for repairs on the engine, the body has a dent in the passanger fender and it leaked so much oil that theres 3/4 of 1 quart left.
the car wont pass smog without this work done.
now what can she do to make him buy back the car or take him to court? this is really rediclous - he sold her a piece of **** and he knew about it - please help

Unfortunately, with used cars it's buyer beware.
She should have had it checked at a shop prior to purchase. . . and if the seller refused to let her do that, it would have been a clear sign to steer clear of the car. Sorry, but I think she's SOL.

he said everything on the car was fine except a small dent and the brakes we're bad - but when she got the car from him he changed the brakes and on the drivers side he put the brake pad on backwards causing a grinding sound
the car is horrible
