According to an article in VWvortex it is was supposed to come out late summer- maybe it got pushed back. Since the GTI/Golf is getting a facelift in 2005, I would imagine it would be soon. I heard they're going to go for just under $30,000. They're already out in Mexico -- they're going for $38,000 there.

My brother did tell me it was going to be in a month or two (I can't verify that though... forgot where he read that from). He was kind of pissed because he just bought a 20th Anniversary GTI. It looks pretty much looks the same, but of course the R32 has the 241hp V6 (vs. the 180hp 1.8T).

Hmm, that could be good news for me. I was seriously considering buying the 20th anniversary edition. Maybe I'll wait for the R32 then, it's just as beautiful a car and damn fast!

SimplySLB - The 20th Anniversary is sweet. It's fast and handles really well. Quality-wise the car feels real solid. My only complaint is that the Monsoon stereo system sounds like crap. Other than that... perfect. If you can get the R32 though, go for it.
