As for your camaro comment...you cannot compare the two cars. It is a completely different buyer that is going to purchase a camaro...The camaro was due for a remodel or for discontinuation....It was over priced, and the design was played out. Not many people want to spend $30,000 plus for an american sports car that is going to be worth $15,000 less after one year of use....when they could have a japanese or european sports car for the same price, that will last longer and keep the value longer.
Okay, not really saying they should have kept the Camaro in it's latest body style. They should have re-designed it utilizing the '68/'69 body style as the basis and updating it. Ford has been doing this with the Mustang and the car is still selling well. Let's face it, the Camaro hasn't been right since the 70s. If they took it back to it's origins and modernized the lines...it would be sweet. Last time I checked it was beating the Mustang out in all categories except sales and styling (Car and Driver test...prolly a few years back) Not that it really matters, the f-body is dead until their 30 year mark they have to produce another Camaro or lose rights to the name.
And as for the Malibu...they don't make it in a manual. Game over. Besides which it looks like they were trying to imitate an Altima and fell miserably short. Sorry, I don't like GM cars. If they came out with an attractive, sexy car that would be one thing. All they put out are these...I don't even know how to describe them...
And don't even get me started on the Impala. As soon as I heard they were not making an SS and isn't available in a V8...And the Monte Carlo? Who's kid's drawing did they get this abomination from? Every time I see one of those I just want to cringe.
Sorry, four cups of coffee and 10 hours into my shift...my $.02

My first car was a '66 Chevelle Malibu. So I consider this car and the previous generation an insult to the Malibu name.
Same thing with the Monte Carlo. My friend had a '72 Monte and it was a great car. They got ugly in the late '70s, then got decent looking again in the '80s. Then the SS came out and it was pretty slick. Then they killed it and sold a LUMINA! *barf* The current Monte is still based off that Lumina platform. It's a damn shame. Chevy has totally lost their brand focus.
They're both just fugly as hell.

The car doesn't look bad, but Chevy is going to hell. Their interiors are still about two decades behind where they should be. With the exception of the Z06 and a maybe the SS Monte Carlo (they look nice, but they're weak), I'm not impressed with anything that wears a bowtie.

HA - malibu....what a piece of crap. All of the rental agencies have them for rent, I've had to rent a few (or rather get stuck with them). They are SLOW dogs, that suck gas. I remember only driving like 200 miles a week or something and having to fill up the tank all the time....what a POS....
