For those interested in the 2k4 Civic Coupe rear tails, I e-mailed Greg (Hondawerx) and said that he could get us a group buy if we can get 5 buyers. It will go for $180 (according to his e-mail) for each person interested. I'm in it, so we just need 4 more buyers. Any takers????
Thanks,
Michael

like the new look on the civic... wouldn't mine they came w/ standards alloy back in the days for the 01 ex...

The style of the bottom front/rear lip looks a lot like the Corrola S. Front looks like a Camry. Rims don't match car.

I don't like it, the side doesn't match the front aggresive lines. Breaks the continuity of design. Happy with my '02

I like it. As for the chrome pieces on the front and back, didn't the EX come with them painted stock since 02? I could've swore I've seen 3-4 of them ridding around with them painted, all of them EXs.

I think the new sedan is sweet! Love the wheels and everything about the car. It looks more refined imo.

The price seems right where it should be considering it's an ex with an AUTO transmission and alloy wheels. heck, my '02 ex sedan stickered at just over 17k w/o the auto.

I like the colored trunk piece as well. I am going to check to see if they have it available online. I have hated that chrome piece since I got my sedan....

Honda took cues and now the front headlights come cleared already. Just an tiny orange relector. Anyone else notice that?

Are the 2004 Civics made in Japan?

More so than my 2002. My VIN starts "1". Looking at the pics, the new Civic pictured has a VIN starting with "J".

If that's the case the new cars will be better quality than ours!

Its also cool that Honda is now giving the Civic a dual beam headlamp... Nothing like a dedicated high beam and a dedicated low beam.

So will the painted trunk molding fit the older sedans?

It looks too much like a coralla to me but that's just how I see it.

Some 2k1's were made in Japan too, and they are falling apart...just because it's made there doesnt mean it's better. My 2k2 is american, and I havent had a single problem other than a squeaky drivers seat, which was fixed under warranty....and i've already got almost 45k miles on mine.

Exactly -- some people thing just because the car is made in the US by American workers, its crap, and this is totally untrue.

Put it this way, you start with crap, you end up with crap. Heck, if the Japanese were building Chevy Malibus, they'd probably be nothing special either. The Geo Prizms were actually US built and are very reliable cars.

BTW, my 2K1 was built in the US and its fine -- I am the 2nd owner.

lol same here!!! im planning to sell my 03 next yr...i wanted to sell it after winter break but i thought to myself, in order to give myself a lil bit of motivation to finish school (im currently hitting mid-college crisis), i told myself i cant sell my car until after i get my diploma...and then i can get a new car, probably a g35 coupe or an sti...

I'm in a similar boat. I bought the Civic to finish college, and now I'm done with college but the Civic is still in my garage!

Hard to find a job (especially in IT) these days if you're a new college grad. Since I'm on my own, the new car will have to wait until the paychecks start rolling in. Then again, maybe I'll keep the Civic and save for a house of my own (or a better house than what I share with my ladyfriend!).

I'm all over the place about what I'd like. I feel like maybe I'd like a luxury type car with all the cool high tech stuff, but then part of me is like "get a sports car!", and yet another part of me is thinking "get a small SUV". I dunno, I guess when the time comes, I'll see what I can afford and what I want to spend. One good thing about waiting is that better and better cars keep coming out

Oh, add to the list -- an old NSX. I still love those things, even if a punk in a new Mustang GT can beat me or give me a run for my money...

I finally went to the dealer and saw a couple of the new vics. Up close, they're actually very nice looking--especially the coupe.

All the S2000's I have ever seen have J vin numbers, so they are all made in Japan not just some of them, just like my RSX-S...

And the Geo Prism is only a "good car" because it is actually manufactured by Toyota, same thing as a carolla, if you didnt know that, then please tell me you dont consider yourself a "car person"...

Not trying to be an ***, just letting you all know the truth, seems like a lot of civic owners are confused about a lot of car stuff... No offense, just a personal observation in looking at this board when compared to other Honda car boards...

heh yeah i think the crome piece on the trunk is kinda weird. Doesnt' belong. Good they got rid of it. They should have made some redesign to the trunk too. but i guess it was costly.

I wish they gave us those tires in the first place! High performance all season (or so they claim) heh

The 04 looks nice, but not enough for me to trrade in my 01. The trunk piece is something that I might get switched out one day, but that's after I find a wrecked one in a junkyard. Lucky bastards didn't get pink reverse lights either. Ah well, doesn't matter, I still love my ricemobile. Probably won't trade it for a long time.

Go to www.honda.com and check out the pics. I love the 2004 coupe taillights! They did a nice job on the styling for this year IMO. All it needs is a K series in 2005 and I'll buy it.

It looks like the 01-03 civics with the aero kit. <---think thats how you spell it. I wonder if it is stock now instead of an upgrade. i just bought a 03 ex coupe, i am glad i didn't wait for the 04's, i saved a few thousand.
Also i like the 03 Rims (SI Rims) hella better.! Anyone else see the blue ring around the gauge cluster?
definite tail light conversion. i hate the horse shoe.

What I wanna know is...Is the blinkers now the brake lights...and vice versa? I'm going by the dealer, maybe tomorrow afternoon, and see if they've got any more in. I seriously wanna see the new coupe's taillights up close!

I've checked all the dealers in my area (Phoenix) to see one in person, and so far, all they have are sedans. Seems like the coupes are taking longer to come out. Makes sense I guess since the sedans were on the Honda website first.
