STi vs EVO VIII...?
Argh, there must be something wrong with the server, because whenever I go to post, it comes up as "Page cannot be displayed"
Anyway, what I did say was:
I was just wondering about the STi vs EVO quality wise... I know that the EVO is having issues with the clutch going at as early as 2000 miles
Not to mention the fact they have people spying on their EVO owners at drag strips, knowing their cars can't handle any form of abuse due to their shitty build quality shining through even on the EVO
lease:
But what about Subaru? How are they in terms of reliability and build quality compared to the EVO? I know the more I find out about the EVO, the more I hate it, and the more I like the STi
For example the interior in the EVO isn't all that impressive, but the STi is quite nice. I'd like to hear what people have to say about my question, seeing as it will be un-biased on a Civic forum

i think the interior in the EVO is nicer than the STI
i personally dont think either of the two are very reliable...
the warranty on the EVO is like 2 months i believe, something really short
The STI looks really ugly IMO
I like the clean look of the EVO
The EVO is already boosted at 19 psi, and the numbers dont really show for it
I would still take either one, but would never buy one

Subaru is pretty reliable....They have their problems but on the whole are pretty good.
On an other note: Right now the STi isnt competitive Vs the Evo 8 in SCCA Solo II compitition....(Stock classes). Go figure
So the STi is probably more Reliable, but the Evo 8 is the faster car on the track........ Wierd.
Stock of course, I never compair 2 modifyed cars against each other; To many vairables.

Ok thanks, because I've been hearing about a lot of problems with the EVO VIII with stuff breaking down (clutch, flywheel, and even intercooler problems), even though it is faster than the STi, I'd probably take the STi because it surely doesn't have all the problems the EVO has, lol

I know about the problems with the EVO, but I don't know about any of the problems with the STi... Registered!!

The Impreza line has been out for many years. . . the WRX since 2002. Overall they're really not any less reliable than MOST imports. Remember. . . ALL Subarus are AWD, so their AWD system is very refined and parts can be wapped with many Subaru models.
The more I study the Subarus, the more I like their product lineup. For instance, I just bought a slightly used set of 2002 WRX front seats. . . (well bolstered for cornering) for my girlfriend's birthday. She's got a 1991 Legacy wagon she's building up for autocross and daily driving. Cool thing is, the seats will bolt right in. . . NO MODIFICATIONS necessary. Gotta love that! Half the suspension componets are direct swaps with most late-model Subbies. . . so even the older models have a lot of aftermarket support.
I dunno. . . . there's more and more to like about the Subaru name the deeper you dig.
