omg 2004 sedan
my dealer should have official information on the vehicle by the middle of august... i'll make a new topic as soon as i get some hard stuff. the new car manager said we shoudl have our first shipment of them in by the end of august.... so they'll be hitting streets before the 18th of september.
I seriously doubt Honda would make all those changes to the front end when a complete redesign is within 2 years. Plus the headlights look like they're straight off of a Camry. And the front end doesn't go with the rest of the car at all.
Theres only one pic of it on one website.
It's FAKE (I think)!!!

its not fake. that is the acutal image of the 2004 civic coupe. honda makes these updates almost every 2 years to all thier cars. go look at the difference in the headlights of a 96-98 civic compared to the 99-01's. honda DOES make these changes, but most are subtle, and this is the biggest one i've seen honda make yet.
OK so you're going to believe one photo off one website?
How do you KNOW it's real?
It's the biggest one you've seen yet because it's probably fake.
Those headlights look like they came straight off the Camry.
Give me a couple of photos from more than one source and I might be a little less skeptical.
Please tell me how you know for a fact that thats the '04 Civic.

If the '04 really looks like that and is suppossed to hit dealers in mid september, don't you think htat Honda would be maketing it on its own web site? at the very least it would be appearing on more then one single web site. besides, like others have said a new modle is due in 2005, why make such a big overhaul now?

people do have a point tho, the only thing that looks different is the front and the wheels. the side mirrors look the same, the seats look the same, and it looks like its the same copue taillights
First and foremost..., this is my first post on this board......, yeah...
I've been looking in the forum for a couple of weeks now.., my girl is going to get a new civic and I wanted to find info on the `04 before she bought an `03...
This cannot go on any longer though.., there will not be a 8th generation civic out in 2005, I GUARENTEE IT.., am I the only person here that knows that Honda went to a 5 year plan? Forever honda had been on a 4 year plan (new generation every 4 years) then I remember reading some time ago (3 years or so) that they were switching to a 5 year plan to save $$$$$$
Hello? Can you people not count? 6th generation civic, came out in `96, ran for `96, `97, `98, `99, and ended with `00, 7th generation accord in `01.., the 6th generation accord, came out in `98, ran `98, `99, `00, `01, and ended in `02, 7th generation accord in `03.., again.., 1st Gen. CR-V came out in `97, ran `97, `98, `99, `00, and ended in `01, 2nd generation CR-V in `02...
Granted there are always excpetions to the rule, 3rd gen. Integra for example, but Acura seems to follow their own scedule.., remember the `99 update for the 6th generation civic? this is the same thing for the 7th generation, remember the `01 update for the 6th generation accord? this is the same thing...
They always updated 3 years into their 4 year plan, now that they are on a 5 year plan, they update 4 years into the 5 year plan, it usually inludes minor front and rear changes, sometimes they will do some interior updating as well, I agree this is prob. the most drastic I've seen, and thay may be why you non-honda geeks havent noticed, but to those of us that breath this stuff, we know that this is normal, and it should have been expected, so to those of you who just bought an `03 last week, you should have done your homework before you bought, even if its just a civic its still a large purchase that you will have for quite a while...
Geese, that was a book, but I hope my point got across...

its not a civic unless its got triangle lights.... with the exception of the 5thgen and older civics... the wedge design has been a trademark of the civic since 96...

4th gen taillights...

5th gen taillights....

6th gen taillights...

7th gen taillights...

The "wedge" or "triangle" taillights didnt show up on the coupes untill 2001, not 1996...
Unless you are confused with the hatch taillights, but this is obviously not a hatch, so I dont think that is the case...
6th gen hatch (`96-`00)

Not flaming you, just thought I'd pass the info. along..........
2nd post.., wooo hooo
This is normal for Honda, they do a slight - to major retouching every 2 -3 years.
5th gen (94-97) 96 Accord redesigned grill, and taillights
6th gen Civic (96-00) 99 got better "clear" headlights and red/clear tailights
6th gen Accord (98-01) 00 Accord, new headlights and taillights, new frontend on both coupes and sedans.
7th gen Civic (01 - 04) New front end.
So calm down folks, this is normal. (I know too muchabout Honda's
) IMHO I think the new front end is hot, I love the color and wheels too.

guess we'll just have to wait and see fellas. I really hope it doesn't come out looking better than our Civics.
a year after I bought me 2001, SO MANY people had all the7th gens and then 2002s came out. I was like, "It's alright, I had the car first... they're all me-too'ers" lol
now with the 2003s, my car really feels old. If they bring out a better looking 7th gen, I don't think I'll drive as often.

he did put together a great post on the descriptions on evolution of the Civic's taillight though! Last edited by XxSoVeReiGNxX; Aug 14, 2003 at 10:07 AM.
If that picture is legit, It would still be a 7th gen. just look at the car's body and you can see a little bit of the triangular taillights. It's just the front bumper and headlight that's changed in the exterior ( in the front at least )
** I still think our 2001-2003 civics look better!!

not to beat a dead horse, but You all know that the accord pictures posted earlier are actually the Acrua TSX right? the Accord as we know it does not exzist in Europe, instead, Honda released the TSX as the accord there.
