My windshield got cracked...(stupid rock!)

What do you think I should do? Get a new windshield or repair the one I have now?

...getting a new windshield would be very costly, from what I hear...how well do the repairs on tiny cracks work?

I'm just concerned it's not as good as getting a whole new windshield...

How much does a new windshield run? And how much does repairing one normally run? What precisely do they do to repair it?

well i know around here i found it as much as 180 for a new one!!! (i think he said new)


or get it filled by one of them people that be on the side of the road talkign about "FIX CHIPPED WINDSHIELDS" so that you will prevent the crack from spreading!!! I gotta crack to ri in front of my eyes on my windshield to...but after a few more rocks hit it i'm gonna buy a new windshield !! So far i got 2 rocks!!!

But does the "fix" really fix the windshield? Or does it just make it look fixed? I don't wanna pay for something that's not worth it...I'd rather just get a new windshield if I'm going to pay out the @$$ later to just get a new one b/c the fix didn't do what it was supposed to...

well if your asking does it make the crack go away no!!! what they do is fill it with some type of stuff but first they gotta drill it so they can fill it but no the rock outline will still be there but it won't take out the crack like it's never been hit before!!! I would wait to buy a new windshield but get it filled before it spreads or don't get it filled if your gonna buy a new one anyways!!!!


besides to get it filled cost like 10-20 bux!!!

Of course the windshield is never like new again, you can't just magically make broken glass new.

They fill the crack with some stuff that is basically glue. It keeps the crack from spreading, and it makes the cracks almost invisible. I would recommend getting the crack filled. I got 3 pits filled on my 6th gen, no problems. Finally I caught a rock dead center that did a smash-up job and they couldn't fix it.
