So, what kinda cars did see that was "the car" to have in the parking lot. Maybe it's just my school but in the past 2 years i've seen...
Supra TT
2 Celica GTS's
240SX with SR20DET (<~ i think thas what the motor was called, SR20 something...)
300ZX (later model, do'nt remember what year exactly)
3 RSX's (2 bases, 1 type s)
Lexus es300 (?) maybe it was another model
couple show winning civics (a 6th gen, and 7th)
Ok, so the civics aren't that expensive (neither insurance) compared to the others, but with the amount of money into it, i decided to add it...Then you got me...bummin rides off everyone i know. heh
I wonder what kinda insurance these people are paying for rsx-s, celica gt-s and others...

I still have one more class for my bachelor's in business. Of course, I DID take an eight-year break. . . but I doubt anyone will think of that this fall or winter quarter when I pull up in a new STi.
BTW, I'm 31.

One day i went to his house and had my I.C.E turned up. His dad came rushing outside and asked to listen to it. He then ran inside the house, grabbed $1300, ran out of the house, and then told us to do the same to the porsche. We ended up needing more money and he came and dropped more cash off to us.
dang, all those...to be honest, i think anyone in High school (like me) driving in a sports car is dumb, TRUE that I want an RSX-S SOOO BAD, i know that if you put me behind the wheel of one, i'll do something stupid like crash, misshift, speed much over the limit. I also think that everyone in high school should be involved in some sorta of accident (not saying that I want people to crash). Cuz i know that before i got in my first accident i thought i was invinceable and speeded everywhere. Granted it was a minor bumper to bumper that only costed me about 450 out of pocket...it was a wake up call (best lesson i learned to date)

we only 17-18 ish 2
drop that down lower
ok...maybe dumb wasn't the right word...maybe i should've said something like, "if someone didn't have some restraint to know their own limits". But i said dumb the first time cuz people where i live are just that, dumb, everyone that i've known with any car with even minimal performance mods crash incessantly. But i do agree with you, i see quite a few people going at most, 5 above the limit, but the majority, i don't.
I'd probably need two memory cards if I took one pic for each cool car around my campus. It's really bad to see a Supra parked on the side of the road just because the student owner couldn't wake his stupid *** early enough to catch a spot in the parking deck.
My old high school had the typcial cars. A whole lotta wranglers, cherokee's, bmw's, one escalade, 3 land rover discoveries, multiple me-too cars (civics, eclipse, etc.) and the like. Nothing that ridiculous.

On to the point - I don't think it's responsible of a parent to buy their child a sports car. By sports car, I mean like a 911, Vette, TT Supra, etc. It's not prejudice against highschool kids, because I'm entering my senior year of HS next week, but it's actually a FACT that teenagers in general aren't going to be as responsible with the car as someone who's older.
Now, I am not going to waste my time arguing about how some older folks are irresponsible. Statistically, kids in high school get into accidents more often than those older, more expierenced drivers. That could mean a $40,000-, $60,000-, $100,000-, or fatal- mistake.

I think many of us are missing the point, here.
The vast MAJORITY of kids driving fast (or overly-nice) cars simply do not carry with them the respect for the power under their hoods, nor for the amount of money it typically costs to do major repairs should they wreck it.
Granted, SOME of us learn more than others at a younger age. So what? For the 98% of the public, that hardly warrants a comment like "Age is a weightless factor." The other 2% (granted I'm making these numbers up) these rules still apply, but the reasoning as it pertains to them simply doesn't hold as well. That's going to be true of anything.
I'm a very smart person. . . then again, I'm old. I wasn't always smart, even though I DID learn a lot at an early age. Age does not denote intelligence or experience. . . but it is a VERY GOOD RULE TO USE. Better than claiming a typical 21 year old would know more about life than a typical 40 year old. That simply does not make sense.

I agree with that. Gotti, not to bang the car, but I don't consider a CLK320 a sports car at 215hp. It's s luxury sedan with a little kick to it.

The degree of the outcome makes no difference...i have a cousin that didn't learn that street racing wasn't good for him until after 2 totaled cars and 4 accidents later...

Haha.. in my school, I probably drive one of the nicest cars.. 7th gen civic si (ex) .. There are really NO nice cars at all. My best friend has a 92 bimmer 325.. it's probably the nicest but the school year is over and he graded. Oh and a teacher drives a new RSX premium if that counts.. Incase you're wondering, I live in Trail B.C., canada.. out in the mountains

We had several 6th gens when I graduated (was the new civic then) along with accords, a very few BMW's, nothing very special though. One girl had a Mercedees though. Here at Georgia Southern, we've got every thing from an Acura NSX and a viper to beaterz and handmedowns.
