i am not talking about doing serious storage like placing my civic on blocks but for something for a very short while (about a month or less). name some things i can do to keep my steelies and tires in tip-top condition and my anything else that should be of concern. this is what i have in mind, maybe some of you guys can help:
tires -- inflate to a higher psi (how high, i don't know ?)
car cover -- to preserve paint. although, my car is garage kept.
full tank of gas -- i read about this somewhere on these boards.
and other things...
do you guys know anything else i can do? remeber, don't mentiong anything like placing the car on blocks or disconnecting the battery... my car wont be stored for that long
lease:
thanks in advance.

Is it being stored outside? If so the car cover is a good idea and to tell you the truth you shouldnt have to worry about inflating the tires if its not that long of a time. I keep my car in sotrage for most of its time and all i do is clea it and then the cover.

i am going away for a short while and once i come back i will be living on campus at an apartment (sophmore in college) when fall starts ( i got to a university about 10 miles from home). there are some ignorant people who park in my garage in the apartment i live in with my parents, so that's why i purchased the the honda car cover. once class begins, my car will be a weekend driver and not much of a daily driver. why? well it's probably cheaper to park my car in the garage and much safer also since i don't like keeping my car on the street (city driving + city parking = scratches). plus during the winter, my garage is heated!
how high can i keep my tire pressure without damaging them? would like 40 psi be good, i know 30-32 is standard... it says it on the door jam.

then if its in a garage i would wash it and not worry about the cover. The air in the tires i wouldnt wory about but its your choice. My car stays in a storage facility during the week since i live at apartments and all i worry about is washing it and keeping the oil changed but since its a temporary sotrage i would just wash it and then go. If your oil is close to needing to be changed i would change it and then go. If its an open facility where other peeps go then cover it but sometimes covering it attracts more attention. At least around my part of town it does

you're right. it does. but the people who know me, usually know my car in my building. since the day i bought my car, i've kept it in the garage in my building and that's where it will be. my step-dad parks their too infront of me. but there are some annoying and carless people who do walk by and i don't want them nudging or touching the car (for example the lady with the old cady next to me, who scratched my bumper while my step-father watched... then she denied it). thanks reddragon333 btw.

About the gas... People usually say to keep a full tank because it degrades slower. Small amounts will coagulate. There's something called. Sta-bil that stabilizes the gas to prevent that coagulation. This coagulation can block flow in the fuel system. Go to Wallmart and read the back of one of those bottles. It'll tell you something about what to do and if you need to do it.
