Well **** i goto work and now this thread got 3 pages longer
1). He brought it to the redline in the vid, the turbo was fully spooled
2). Well last time i looked at the compressor map for a large turbo, pushing 20 psi on a large turbo will result in much more than 373 hp.
3). 373 hp @ 20 psi = small turbo, small turbo = very little lag
And todays lesson learned is....... think before you say something stupid, some people here know what there talking about when you f*ck with them you get shot down. Me for example I know a lot about turbos, when you try to BS me about turbos you get shot down simple as that.
On a side note people need to drop the 50 psi thing. I don't like the guy but he never stated that his friend was planning on running 50 psi. Most professionally built blocks will withstand this kind of pressure.
Im the one that said that, because after looking at the 2 vids (1 of a stock RSX-S and one of the boosted RSX-S) the stock RSX-S seems to lose its steam above 80, but the boosted one keeps climbing. Yes the turbo was spooled, and like i said before he doesn't have a laggy turbo. He most likely has a smaller turbo thats why he can run so much boost and not get crazy horsepower.
You do have to know that with such a large turbo, more than likely a T4, there is such thing as TURBO LAG. This would not allow the car to accelerate as fast as you think.

And for the car not accelerating like it should ... i remember someone saying that is went pretty fast above 80 ... did anyone think that he was just laying on it in 3rd and the really laggy turbo didn't spool till then?
So you are saying that 373 isn't much HP? First off, a big turbo + 20 psi doesn't mean crazy mad HP ... you have to take compression into consideration too. Like I said before, I'm not a honda guy, but I do know my VW's. If you can put a GT-25 Turbo (APR Stg. III Kit) on a 1.8t w/ 9.5:1 compression @ 20 psi and only have 283 hp (I have it on video if you need proof), then 373 on a 2.0l w/ a bigger turbo and a FMIC w/ slightly less compression sounds right to me ...
Oh, and the RSX-S looses steam above 80?? How the *** did you get that stupid Idea in your head? The RSX is designed for HWY speed. My car will walk a Type-S from 0-60 but on the hwy, a type-S will hand me my ***. That is what the car was designed to do. So if you think that the stock RSX-S is slower up top (as I know that it is not ... i-VTEC kicks in then ... think about it, thats the only place power is ...) due to the vid, then it shows that the vids suck in comparison. Man ... why am I defending a Honda again??

Lastly, I have temp banned the seemingly troll, and if they want to try again, I suggest they watch their choice of words more carefully and not say things like "i heard this site was full of ricers" and crap like that.
Secondly I also banned turtle from posting in this thread, since he had equally blatent flames to hand out, which is what started the flaming in the first place.
So with that, let's calm the f*ck down and get back to discussing the topic.

Yeah, you are the all knowing God of boost I guess ... please note the VW's 1.8t 180 base engine (AWP) has a 9.5:1 compression ratio and can hold 20+ psi and be daily driven w/ no internal modification. It has been done and will continue to be done. I think we all know that lower compression means that the engine can hold more boost, so please don't flatter yourself by thinking that you know more than everyone else. My comment was basically saying that my engine (VW 1.8t APH, which was designed to hold boost @ 9.3:1 compression) has a higer compression than the RSX in question (which has a fully built, and yes forged engine). I was just throwing ideas in the air w/ the whole 3rd gear thing, it is kinda pointless to do, but who knows? How about this ... when I get some time, I'll give Scott a ring and I'll film the RSX myself. That way everyone will know what gear he's in and what exactly is going on and how fast this car really is.

2). Apparently youv'e never heard of a compressor map have you. We have compressor maps for a couple reasons, first being to show the statics of the turbo i.e how much boost the turbo can handle. And also because 2 people with the same car and the same turbo can get completely different HP ratings because they have different setups. See the purpose of a compressor map is to rate the turbo by itself, regardless of intercooler size, compression, engine size.
3). If you really wanna get into it i can pull up compressor maps for say a T88 and you can see where 20 psi will get you. As its obvious we have different opinions on whats considered a big turbo. In my opinion anything above a T66 is a big turbo.
