Talking Drove 2003 RSX-S

Last Tuesday or Wedsday when I was bored at work I called the Acura dealer to ask about the RSX-Ss. Well I asked some simple questions and they answered them, then they offered to let me take a test drive, wich is what I really wanted anyhow. So I showed up unannounced on Thursday afternoon at about 2:45 and asked more about the car, like what does it come with, what are options, etc etc - then the guy asks me if I would like to take one for a drive! So in my mind I'm like WAHOO!!!! I say, very enthusiastically, "I'd love to!". So he goes and gets some keys and we go out the the car, it was silver in case you wondered. So I told him about where Id be going and hes just like alright, then he goes to walk back inside, I call out, hey arnt you coming with me?!?! he says no, why? I just said that normally they want to come with the people taking test drives to make sure they come back and stuff. Oh, well Ill just keep an eye on your car. he syas, and in my mind I am getting more excited every moment . So he goes back inside, and i just sit there for a second kind of in awe. Then I calmly drive it out of the lot and onto the street. The highway is less than a block away from the dealer,so that is directly where I went. Getting on the ramp, first I burned some rubber taking off, then when redlining first gear I scratch the tires going into second, and again on third!!! By that point I think i was going like 90mph or somthing, I totally started losing my mind . I drove it along down the highway and I got that car up to at least 125, but i wasent watching the speed all the time, cars come quick at those speeds. it was friggin sweet. I never even had to use sixth gear, except when there was too much traffic in my way so i just cruised. That car got/gets up so damn quick, at least compared to our cars, its amazing. I even saw a newer firbird and reved at it, but alas it turned the other direction. Also that car is soo quiet at high speeds. In my car at 100+ you can hear the wind and stuff, in that car nothing. it was just a great experience IMO. When I got back to the dealer i said heres the keys, then yanked them back and said but you cant have em!, jokingly of course. I was just speechless, I didnt realize that it would have that much get up and go! they come factory with a 200hp vtec engine, leather, moonroof, all are 2 doors, 6 speed. if youve got $23,770
sorry this was so long

I'm debating on getting a type s or Celica GTS. I can get them both for 23,000 and the GTS with all the options I want goes for 27,000 @ regular price. I'm not sure yet.

Get a mustang gt I got leather premium sound, faster car, EXCELLENT handling (I dont care if you dont believe me, if you havnt driven an 03 gt then dont tell me how much it sucks), better looks imo, worse gas milage (i get like 22-23 mixed driving) all for 21k. mmmm I test drove an rsx-s (that was my second choice) but the mustang was just amazing. Torque will blow your mind if you ever drive a car with it

If you are going to get a Mustang wait till the 04 comes out, that thing looks so sweet and its pretty damn powerful.

I wouldnt mind owning one.

The 03 GT is all over the road, and the styling is kinda wierd, it comes with everything that you would add aftermarket (vents, hood, etc.).

My girlfriend has a 03 SVT mustang cobra. It's supercharged and is amazing as far as the power. It has givin her a lot of problems and it costed alot though. I personally hate fords and pretty much any other domestic because of the quality, but I don't want to start a war. Just my opinion and I'm not saying this because I drive a Honda. It's from personal expierance from friends and my family owning Fords in the past. Just look at all the magazine articles about all the car manufactures and what all of them rank as far as durability.

Yup, I felt the same way about the RSX-S. I even test drove it twice, at the same dealership, talked to the same guy, and he didn't come along on either test drive. It's a really, really sweet car.

I also test drove the new 03 Mustangs around the same time I was test driving the RSX-S. The power of the Mustang is awesome, it'll shove you back into your seat..

But I'm glad I stuck with my civic, at least for now. I seem to drive almost 4,000 miles a month and I need something economical.

Glad that car has been properly broken in now.

Now everyone in that area who reads these boards knows which RSX-S NOT to buy....

I was going to go test drive the Type-S today, but they said they don't have any in stock. . . not until the first week of August.
