Speed Shifting
Speed Shifting
-Changing gears... clutch free!!!
Ok, now what's the deal this. Has anyone happened to do this in a 7th gen? I know the tranny isn't designed for it, but can it handle it? I've only used it a few muscle cars, like a gto, chevelle, mach I, and a mach III. I know that it doesnt provide any really noticable difference. In fact, slingshot shifting works better, imo. But anyway, yeah. I just wanna know if anyone has done it in the 7th gen vics.

ya, i used to do that a couple of times, untill i found out that it is bad for the transmission. just make sure you rev match the gears.

u can do it u just have to find the right rpm where the gear u are in and the gear u are going to are in sync..
It's possible to do it, although I've never done it on my Civic. You'll mess up your synchros pretty badly by doing it regularly.
I used to do it all the time on accident when driving my Mazda B2200 truck. Like when I'm rolling along at a slow speed in neutral, I'll lean my hand on the shifter getting ready to shift into 1st, but before I disengage the clutch, the shifter slips right into 1st by itself.

In road racing, its been proven to give you no advantages. other then more chances to damage the transmission. I Dont know about drag racing.
I did it a few times in my 01 Ex, but it was really hard to find the right rpm in the lower gears to get it to work well. 3-4 and 4-5 work pretty well. However, I have found it works better on RWD vehicles. Such as a Mustang with a T-5. The RWD trannys tend to be a little bit more bullet proof than FWD ones.
