Making a sleeper (of sorts)

My friend is lookin' to buy an EP3 hatch and turn it into a really big sleeper. He's got about 30 grand to spend; I don't know how he got it and, frankly, I'm afraid to ask. Prolly drugs or somethin'

Anyway, he wants the EP3 hatch and the JDM DC5-R engine, as far as I know. He wants to upgrade the engine to maximize performance without reducing engine life to like 4 days.

What would you guys suggest for a good N/A setup with the money he has leftover, and what would you suggest for a good Forced Induction (not counting go juice) setup?

Finally, how much HP do you think each would yield? I don't wanna ask about acceleration performance, cause neither of us live our lives a quarter mile at a time. However, if you have a ballpark figure for that, it'd be neat.

Thanks.

import a Civic Type-R instead for 25,000, then put the other 5 into a turbo. shouldn't need to do much else to it

buy an evo instead. Making a civic of any kind fast is just pointless. especially when most cars in our price range are much faster.

get a v6 tibby and twin-turbo the damn thing

^ But he wants a sleeper. I'm guessing that's why he's going with an EP3?

Why not a coupe or sedan? That'd be even more of a sleeper, right?

Yeah it would, but he (and I) prefer the EP3, just out of looks. The coupe/sedan might be more sleeper, but I've seen way too many in my town and surrounding area, whereas I've seen like 2 EP3s.

^ That's cool.

If anything, you can talk to DC5@EM2. He did a K20A (Type R) swap in his coupe. Not sure if he went to the tracks yet, or if he has dyno numbers.

the k20a (type R) swap shouldnt be too difficult considering the EP3 hatch already has a k20 in it. so motor mounts and such shouldnt be a problem.

Damn, with 30 grand, you can take a lil' less than 1/2 of it to make an 11 second hatch and still have money to buy the EP3. If 30 grand comes to him that easily, he could just save up money as more parts become available and fix that up, too.

Now he can have 2 cars.... I mean 1 car and 1 mini-mini van.
