Chris Bangle (head of design of BMW) has really taken some knocks for the mew styling direction he is going in, actually the new 5 series was toned down some in the rear due to all the negative comments on the new 7 series. I am not sold on the look 100%, but I agree with what Bangle says, the new designs are not meant to appeal to everyone, they are meant to be "polarizing", and you have to admit they are more out there than the previuos designs, which were a little boring and plain, especially the 5 and 7 series, not so much the 3 series. I'd still rather have an Audi over their BMW counterparts, if I had to pick a fine German sedan. RS6 please....

i agree 100 percent w/tat statement cept for mb the rs6. rs6 may be kick *** rite now. but...wait til the new m5 comes out. i heard sumthin about a v10 pumpin about 500 bhp. yea i read tat in a reputable magazine once. (dun remember which one.) but BMW wanted a new radical design as opposed to the old conservative styling. for me rite now, all cept the 3. bangle is holdin up to it.

The RS6 has 450hp. I wouldn't mind the fifty fewer hp since the RS6 looks so much better than the new M5. I would like a manual in the RS6 though. If they'd just put in the S4's tranny or any other 6-speed, it'd probably be perfect.

You are right, new M5 will have a slightly de-tuned version of the F1 V10 BMW uses.
to that. But I still prefer the Audi's looks, even if it isn't packing as much power. 450hp is enough for me, and if not, crank up the boost on those stock turbos!!!! Twin turbo power, baby!!!

Am I the only one who likes the Z4 a lot better than the Z3??
My favourite year and make of the BMW's is 1989-1990 M3, i think it looks more aggressive than the newer ones.

some people had mentioned earlier the 3 series, just thought the m3 is a really nice car
