Best Handling Car?
Best Handling Car?
I was just curious as to what everyone thinks was the best handling car of all time for under $30k US (new). I'm not sure what to cast my vote in as, the 240SX has always been a great fave of mine, though one can't help but love the good ol 'Vic.
LOL....
1986 Toyota Corolla GT-S..... Come on redline... or any AE-86 Corolla GT-S at that. Plus they have good power jwen you drop a 4A-GE in it.
i have a 1972 Datsun 510 that eats most cars in the corners...
Go with the 240 SX Especially if itd an S14.... Just swap in an SR20 and boost like 20 Lbds and you will have a very fast car that handles well... Got to love those R200 rear ends on those nissans

I would say the MINI Cooper S. The wheels are stretched out to all 4 corners, and the fact that the car is so light makes it perfectly tossable. The thing feels like a street-legal go-kart!

'95 M3 hands down. That car handles like a f*cking dream. I don't know if they were under $30k new, but you can definitely get them for cheaper than that used now.

Best Handling Car? 760Li Sedan 0-60 under 6 seconds, 6.0L V12 438 HP
Still pure luxury... Def, best handling (but its $115,800
)
I still think any BMW such as a 325i Sedan 26k$, would have great handling

M3's are not under 30k. An RX-7 will beat a BMW 3-series, pretty sure.
And drifting does not equal fast. Actually drifting as in Initial D is slower, because too much time is spent on countersteering. Hence you dont see F-1 cars drifting.

handling?
porsche 944, 951 or 968 (perfect 50/50 )
chevy corvair (most stable car ever built... so stable, that when a tire went flat, you wouldn't even notice, thats why ppl crashed them... the tires back then sucked, and people didn't maintain the cars...)

Lol.... You should do the research when have you ever even seen a BMW m3 in a race.....
Plus i belive the Vettes skid pad is higer so that means it can take turns sharper... hence handeling better
Oh yea plus the vette is ligter, has more horse power/torque and is lower to the ground....

actually that means it can just go in a circle faster. a skidpad is merely a cicle drawn out on the pavement, the speed and time of the car measured the equation equals the skidpad #. its not that great of a system to base handling on, but neither is a slalom, since it favors smaller cars with shorter wheelbases and overhangs. the easiest way to find out how a good a car handles is around a course, thats the only way. whether it be an autoX course or the big "Nur". for over $30k, i'd take a porsche 911 GT3 anyday over anything. 7 minutes and 51 seconds around the Nur is good for me, fastest street legal produtcion around it.

hes right in some sense, power does make a difference in handling, if you would like me to whip out some old car mags, i can. but its not totally about power, it also has to deal with momentum. check out the "g-games" in SCC, try thier site. i have all my old mags in a box, and im quite lazy.
i really dont understand why the AE86 is so worshipped. it didnt handle that great, but it was forgiving, making it good for a drift car. drfit cars really dont have to handle the best, just as long as they can stay in control. if the AE86 is such a great handler, what about the Chaser?
