I won a contest for a mustang once after I bought my civic, I decided to keep the civic for several reasons. Fuel economy, import car( don't like domestics), easier to mod. I got the cash for the mustang $$!!.

yes the v6 stang is the cheapest stang available and i would take the civic over the stang because the v6 stang is too heavy for a v6 its like over 3000 pounds or so .
Who would want a V6 Mustang? Higher insurance, lower gas mileage, lower safety ratings, etc. than a Civic EX. It's got more torque, sure. But the performance still sucks. I'm not even sure it will beat a stock Civic EX in the 1/4 mile.
V6 pony cars are just a waste, IMO. If I was going to buy a Mustang I would go straight for the SVT Cobra for less than $40k.

The only bonus the V-6 pony has is it will take us at the light (aka higher torque), but from a rolling start it doesn't stand a chance, a friend of mine and I run the freeway all the time together and I walk away. But we all know that our cars have way more style than a V-6 pony. Besides who would want to admit, "I have a Mustang, but it is only a V-6"...PLEASE!!!
Mustangs are pretty good cars even the V6. I've never driven one but it has torque. 193 hp and 220 lb ft of torque, that's powerful for a $20,000 car. Modifying it is a problem though. I've never seen a tricked out mustang v6.
the civic. mustangs arent that great for the basic one, the new station wagon and minivan of the 21st century...
My moms Hyundai Sonata LX V6 beat my friends mustang by 2 car lengths...easy...but her car flys and is smooth as butter

Point well made!!! I agree that buying a V6 Mustang is somewhat of a foolish decision. I guess it appeals to people who like the "style" (notice the quotes) of the current Mustangs, but don't want to pay the higher cost, ins prems, and fuel costs of a GT or Cobra. So, basically, you have a car that looks almost the same as the fast versions, but it isn't any fun to drive.
Sorta like the Mitsu Lancer OZ edition, looks nice, but same engine and suspension as a base Lancer, with the same 120hp???

ahhhhhh the ricers show their faces.
bottom line the mustang beats a civic in EVERY way in terms of performance no you wont beat a stang from a rolling start or anything its not going to happen.
im hearing alot of "domestics suck" yea well tell that to their tail-lights when your racing them.

Dont go with the stang. First of all its a piece of crap and its not attractive at all. The civic is dope and hondas keep or have high value when trying to trade or sell.

basic mustang coupe (not cobra, not GT): 190hp,weight 3,450 lbs--> (0.0550 hp/lb)
civic EX : 127hp, weight 2449lb--> (0.0518hp/lb)
mustang we are comparing here is powerful but also heavy.
we must take weight into account, please, basic physics. So, they actaully differ by 0.032hp in power. Please explain how in this case Ex will see mugtangs tailight??? assuming both driver are same skill of course.
I like any car which is good, I won't repel domestic nor import. But please show some prof to back yourself and do not bring out Cobra or GT VS civic EX. It is not the subject.
In the case we talk about here, is it worth it choosing basic mustang over civic EX for 800$ more??? more insurance, more maintainance?
