SCC rips on the TSX
Anyone read the review Sport Compact Car did on the TSX this month. Man they were ripping the hell out of it at first then started to praise it what is up with this? Oh well, I don't care what they say about my wifes car I love it.

It does take the place in the food chain of the old 4-door integra. However it is far less like the RSX than that 4-door integra was to the old hatchback. As a matter of fact the TSX uses unequal length control arms up front - a (confusing) step up from the (supposedly) more sporty RSX. The engine may be a K series but it is more closely related to the CRV engine. Like I said it's similarity to the RSX is a distant relationship. I guess you could say that the Integra 4 & 2 door are like brother and sister and that the RSX and TSX are like cousins.

The tsx is way chill its a sport sedan so it would be cool with
a intake and exaust for a little more power and sound
and the oem body kit and wing and some 18' wheels it would be the coolest
sport sedan ive seen aside from the is300.

The people whom Honda are targeting with the TSX probably don't read SCC anyways. They're mainly older urban professionals who want a semi-luxury car w/o shelling out big bucks for a Lexus or Infiniti.
I just finished reading the review, and while I wouldn't say they "ripped" the TSX, they seemed less than pleased with the handling aspects of the car. I too was confused how the article starting somewhat negatively, and then ended with them praising the car. Did they change their mind mid-way through writing it? One thing that was impressive about the article was the dyno results. 179hp and 154lb-ft of torque at the wheels!!! Anyone care to donate for a K24A2 swap??? Anyone?
All car magazines have to give praise or the manufacturers would pull their ads and no longer give them cars to try different stuff on. Te best way to get a decent car review is from an actual "experienced" owner. If he has owned many cars in the past and he can, without a doubt say the car is good then it must be. Dont ever trust any magazines, even with performance upgrade parts. Magazines and the media in general are there to make money from the advertising and of course you cant talk bad about the people that basically feed you right, thats why you rarely see any bad reviews, even if you know the car sucks.

I guess Im one of the few that love this car!!! Im normally not a sedan man, but I would rather have the TSX than an RSX. The interior is extremely nice and the exterior looks sharp. Its got a great engine to go with that. And then with navi its under $30,000 ($28,900 i believe). I'd sure as hell buy it if I had the money.
It just strikes me as odd that it only puts out 200 hp. I mean the RSX K20A1 puts out 200 hp, and the JDM K20A puts out 220 hp. So, even by going with the hp/L of the US K20A1, the K24 should be putting out like 240 hp. Maybe they will bring out a TSX Type S?
Um, from what ive read in car and driver and motor trend and stuff, they think they will bump it up soon. they said the same thing about 200hp. they basically also said that since its the first year in production, it will soon be up they though.
The TSX is perhaps the best handling Acura under the NSX and over the CL-S and RSX. It's got pleasurable torque across the entire powerband, an impressive transmission - but it's still an overpriced Accord.
It is not an RSX. It's like an RSX only being FWD and like the RSX - an overpriced Civic with 200HP.
