Evaluation of 98 EX coupe
So I saw an ad for a 98 civic coupe on facebook for 800$ and decided to see it. The car is a D16Y7 manual and has 180k miles on it. The car wasn’t rusted out, there were no holes, but rust covered all underside and suspension, which is normal in eastern Europe, it appeared to have been used pretty roughly, as it had a cold air intake with a filter that had holes in it, very bouncy suspension and a subwoofer that took up all of the trunk, probably all of the previous owners were teenagers. There were some scratches, some bumps, a bit of rust, but nothing heavy, the visual was far from perfect though. The engine sounded ok, all electronics worked, alignment was good, clutch wasn’t fresh, but wasn’t done also. As it was in a rough shape visually and had a questionable history, I said that I would take it for 600, but the owner said the price was not negotioable. Should I take the civic for 800? These are very rare in my country, but to get it in a good shape I would need at least $1.5k and don’t really know if it’s worth it. What are your thoughts? I have added pictures.

Tough to say because there are no regular users here from that area and I don’t know what the rules are there surrounding inspections and whatnot. It might be worth doing.
Re: Evaluation of 98 EX coupe
There are inspections every year, they check emissions, rust, everything under the car, I’m pretty sure this one will pass it, since it did last year

As long as the body is in decent shape I'd say it's an ok price. Get rid of the chrome ***** though.
