is this 98 civic a vtec
im brand new to this forum but not new to civics i own a 95 1.5L and im looking at buying a 98 civic and giving the 95 to my brother. the guy with the 1998 doesnt know what it is and the badges are gone he claims its an EX but i cant tell it could be a LX its a 1998 2 door coupe 1.6L im going to add a pic of the engine and maybe yall that know what you are talking about can tell me if its got the vtec head thanks

Yes if it actually is an Ex trim.

EX: Available as a coupé or sedan. It included all standard equipment from LX plus a higher-horsepower SOHC VTEC engine, power sunroof, air conditioning, remote entry system, plus body-colored side mirrors and side molding. ABS was standard on sedan only and optional on the coupe if equipped with an automatic transmission. For 1999, the EX added a CD player as standard equipment

Thanks so much i ended up buying it and its an EX i forsure have some work to do on it the power locks dont work neither does the passenger power window, and it kind of bogs a little in 5th at hwy speed. im buying spark plugs and wires hopefully that will help, i will post some pic when i get it cleaned up
