So, some how my fog light got busted out, idk how, ...anyway, I bought the entire housing and an l.e.d. bulb. I haven't installed it because right before I was going to the install, I saw something about not being able to do it that way. Is it possible to just smack an led in it? Thanks for any help!
Re: Inquiring
We don't even know what year/trim you have, but you should never put an LED in a housing designed for halogen bulbs. The light reflected out will shine too much above the cutoff, blinding oncoming traffic.

it's 2018 Hatch 1.5. My issue is the fog lights, I'm not looking to blind anyone. I usually never even use them but I wanted really bright fog lights for when I'm driving down those dark *** highways where no one else is for miles. I was just wondering if it was possible without throwing codes or screwing anything up.

they test the products and only sell if it have a good result
there are thousands of led bulbs, hard to tell which will work properly
newer cars should be better to reflect the light, but if the bulb leds are not in the right position, they can reflect light to wrong place. you will not see well and will blind others
no codes other than pissed out drivers flashing their high beams for led conversion
different than halogens with higher power, leds don't actually heat the housing that much - high power halogens could melt some old housings (some HID did the melting too?) some case of drawing too much power and frying the wiring too
Re: Update on led fog ligjts
So, I did install them a week or so ago, so fa I've have no issues. No codes nothing. They are bright af, just as I hoped they'd be. I have bluish hid low beams and ,... led high beams, I know I know, the other drivers n ****... but I am telling you, you'd rather have me with bright lights than the other option, ..I can't see very well at night, when rains! omg that's when it's at its worst, so yep, I'm THAT guy but when there is on coming traffic or I am coming up behind someone, if auto high/low beams do not kick on, I will change to low,..... I have zero choice in the matter as I work 2nd shift and get off work at 11pm-3am. It is what it is.
