2014 9th Gen Civic 'Passenger Airbag' Light Always On [solved]

Hi everyone

I used to own a 2014 Civic but later got rid of it when I realised it was in a severe accident and was rebuilt. It had a problem with a 'Passenger Airbag' light which stayed on while the car was running and looked odd so I thought it was a problem with my one specifically. I am looking to buy another one that's clean but I noticed on a couple listings they all have the same light that stays on the dash.

I couldn't find anything online so I joined here to ask if someone with the same model could confirm if this is normal or a fault with the car. I have attached a couple pictures of what the particular model looks like and the light that I am referring to.

The car is running here so its not a light that only comes on during pre-ignition.

if there is no passenger, the light will be on.
if passenger is a child, the minimum weight is not reached and the light will be on.
"Don't put children in the passenger seat" is the reason the light is there. Potential injuries from air bag.

check your Country's Honda website, they have online owner's manuals available (At the least, in US they are free)

Easy test:
turn car on, sit on passenger seat. light should go off.

Most of us are in North America and won’t have the same model. If you’re that worried, take it to a shop and have them check it. In all likelihood, it’s just a weak deflator.
