I'm new here as well and just bought a 2015 EX on Monday for my son to drive (It's MY car!?!?). I know there are people on here who can give more advice but here's what I did: 1st check the carfax report to make sure it meets your standards then go see the car. I learned the side panels on the doors flex a little when the windows roll up which is common, made sure all the panels were on the bottom of the car, checked for signs of leaks in the engine, no funny smells in the interior, no vibrations when driving, check the condtion of serpentine belt / door / trunk / window seals and check the operation of the electronic features. Then take it and get a 3rd party mechanic used car check on it....and above all be patient and don't be in a hurry to buy until you find the right one. I work on my own vehicles and one thing I like about Civics is they are very user maintainable
I had been looking at /considering Civics for a couple of years and got really serious in the past couple of months. .My son had been driving our old 2006 white Nissan Quest van, affectionately known as "Vanna White'...but that's a whole other story. After driving several civics we decided a Crimson Pearle 2014-2015 EX with less than 100K miles was the Holy Grail of our search. I also like the thin Honda pinstripe on them but if I'm not mistaken the factory stopped putting them on the later civics. We found one in PA (I'm in VA) with our exact specs including the pinstripe installed by the dealer, but they sold it before we could get there. Was disappointed and was considering second options for exterior colors but kept looking and another one popped up in the same area that was identical to the first except the VIN, both vehicles had ~85K miles on them. We went up and bought that one. It is a very nice car and we're very happy with it. Having a little patience definitely paid off.
Weathertech accessories (floor mats / sunshade) should arrive by Friday!
