Spare wheel for 2018 Si
Spare wheel for 2018 Si
So I want a spare wheel for my 2018 Si since it doesn’t have one. Takeoff Si wheels go for $200 which is more than I want to pay for a wheel I’m (hopefully) not going to use.
is there another far cheaper factory Honda 18-in five lug wheel I could use as a spare?

Re: Spare wheel for 2018
You can spend more than 200 on a brand new factory wheel, I expect only body shops pay that on insurance companies’ dime.
Re: Spare wheel for 2018 Si
Pretty much any steelie with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern and 64.1mm or bigger hub bore will work. The winter tires for my TSX are from an ‘01 mustang. You aren’t limited to just Honda wheels. Just make sure it clears the brake rotor. I’d guess you could go something as small as a 16, but that would probably be a stretch. 17 for sure.

I went with the takeoff factory wheel from a salvage yard.
$270 is a LOT more than I wanted to spend for a wheel and tire I sincerely hope to never need; but it could save the day when bad luck hits...especially if I’m on a trip and don’t want to spend my vacation time calling then waiting then paying for help because I got a flat.
Heads up to anyone else who owns an Si: I found an 18 inch Achilles sport tire for $70 delivered. It got good reviews on Consumer Reports and very positive comments from owners who’ve used this tire on all kinds of cars.
When this car needs tires, I’m going to buy 4 more like this one and rotate them in set of 5, the way people did 40 or so years ago. So even if I never need the spare I’ll still use it.

The sport hatch comes with factory 18's (essentially the same as Si rims, but slightly smoked color in comparison), center mounted exhaust, and a spare tire. Future reference is one could always grab a sport/sport touring hatch spare.
