After 2 weeks since lock down, I opened the hood to top off some fluid and noticed some sponge near top right side around the hood. The left side sponge looks good(first image) but the right side and center(second/third image) one looks scrubbed as if a rat got in or something. Can anyone please tell what do you think it is? And if I need to replace these sponge, where can I get it?
Animals are a definite possibility. Just to clarify, I'm of the understanding that you parked it for 2 weeks without it moving and it was fine 2 weeks ago. You shouldn't need to replace them.
Yes, it was all fine. I was just curious if I needed to replace it to stop if any animal entering unless it doesn't serve any purpose but to hold couple of wires in place. Also, I hope it doesn't let water in the engine bay. I was more worried if that animal could cut into wires or some parts resulting in major repair cost.

Definitely rodent damage, can try zip tie-ing some dryer sheets under the hood or putting some moth ***** in there. Or one of those ultrasonic anti mice things you plug into the wall if the car is in a garage

Ok the one at the fender actually does many things but that's an engineering lesson by itself. . The bite marks in the pic wouldn't worry me at all,
the roundish cover middle of the engine looks like the hp pump cover. Helps reduce noise? You didn't notice it
Adjust radio volume?
I am just curious how a rodent can get in as this is a new car. The only way I can think of is under the engine unless its not sealed from the bottom by design? Could that be the case?

Most rodents can fit in any hole their skull can fit through. There are plenty of areas for them to get in under the car. There's no need to replace that foam, especially if you don't take care of the rodent problem
It's not completely sealed. That skid plate thingy is just a cover. There are ways for a rodent to weasel their way into the engine bay.

Thank you all for your feedback. So, I went to Lowe's today and bought this TOMCAT Rodent 14-oz Rodent Repellent.
I sprayed it till soaked in 4-5 cotton ***** and left it in various places in the engine. Also sprayed under the car, near tires and floor mats inside the car.
I am not sure what else I can try to keep them away or have them leave the engine bay. I don't see any rodent droppings and just those sponges bitten.

Rodent damage can get expensive in a hurry. Rodents chew up wiring like moms spaghetti.
There's a whole mess of wiring in a car. Like Licorice wish dont each diffrent color wires each taste differnt?
Don't give them extra reasons to get inside the car where you sit. .
Clean it out? Get rid of all traces of food.
If you got kids you should know they really do stash and mash french fries places you never knew existed, Search there first itll be quicker.
Kid quicker when he mad too. I was gonna make tuna salad tomorrow but he already threw his some place that don't even fkn exist yet.

Any parking lot---stay away from the edges. Critters loiter in the tall weeds right there close by. .. I haven't seen rodents actually living out on the pavement but they will certainly go there for lunch. Don't be the first meal they see when they reach the pavement...
