Collision Mitigation Braking System - False positives & On/Off switch?
Collision Mitigation Braking System - False positives & On/Off switch?
I'm close to buying a 2019 Civic EX hatchback to replace my 2006 Civic EX sedan. It comes standard with Honda Sensing.
A couple reviews (Edmunds among them) complained about excessive false positives with the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), and a few owners reported unfounded emergency braking -- the system brakes hard in an inappropriate situation. All the comments were from 2018 and I suspect they apply to that model year.
I like the idea of the safety features. I wonder if the CMBS was tweaked for 2019 to reduce false positives Does anyone have experience with that feature in a 2019 Civic?
Also, is there a button to turn it off or do you have to go into the menu system. I looked at the owner's manual and there's a heading "Turning the System On or Off" but no info with it.
Thanks!
