Vacation at the Northeast

Sup guys, I am from SoCali. My family and I will be visiting the east coast in 2 weeks. What point-of-interests do you guys suggest me to visit? I have plan the route but dont really know the individual places to go to. I think I'll visit Harvard, MIT, and eat lobster and clam chowder at Boston.

Here is my route:

day 1: Philly -> Wash. D.C -> Philly
day 2: Philly -> New York City
day 3: New York City -> Boston
day 4: Boston -> Montpelier, VT -> Manchester, NH

Thanks in advance for any input!

well from boston to VT will be quite a drive so I'm not sure how much time you'll have.

Some places in Boston you might want to see is Fenway Park, Faniuel (sp?) Hall/ Quincy Market, Boston Common, Museum of Fine Arts, Aquarium, Museum of Science, North End.

Beware, because of the Big Dig, no maps you have will be accurate. They're changing roadways daily. Good luck finding everything (your going to need it)!

And why would you want to end up in Manchester?

I agree with Havok... The big dig sux! Be carefull in Boston, you WILL get lost. The public garden, and Duck tour's are nice too.

I took a Duck tour, even though I live here, and had a blast. Although tickets are available online, and at the desk, they are hard to come by.

I dunno, actually my sister planned the route. I think she wants to do hiking there.

NYC and Vermont def should be the highlight of the trip.

Use to go to school in NH, kinda depressing up there.

hope your road trip is fun.

It's the largest road project in US history (it was a few years ago anyway). Basically they are redoing the entire highway system in all of Boston. Taking the highways and putting them under the city instead of above. Its been taking years and will hopefully be done in a few more (yeah right)....

Hiking in Manchester? That would work, but hiking is better in northern NH in the White Mountains.

I've lived in a suburb of Manchester since I was 8 years old and there isn't any hiking there, it's a city.

Right now i'm living in MontPelier for school, and let me tell you, it's WEIRD up here. Inbreds, rednecks, people with no teeth, hippies....I can't imagine why you would want to visit unless your coming up for VT microbrews or something.

Yeah hiking in Manchester is.... pointless. Go further up in VT, like to Mt. Washington.

Well ,you can spend weeks between DC and Boston and not see 10 to the 1000000000000000000000000 of the great places!
Kinda depends on what your into, History-this is the birthplace of the nation from Poughkeepsie,NY, to Boston,MA, sports -Yankees to Redsocks and Giants to Patroits, art -MONA to DIA, music - the big apple to Newport, raceing- Englishtown to Limerock, and on and on!
(in short,no f'en help)
