no its not..they were trying to pass a law but i dont now what happend with that.. it is illegal if u DO NOT HAVE A CATALITIC CONVERTER OR A RESONATOR.. u missing one of these or both u aignt getting an ispection sticker and mostlikely you will get pulled over for the sound being too loud

I got a $100 ticket for loud music last week in central falls R.I. by a goddamn bicycle cop.I could understand if it was nighttime but this was noon?? For anyone not from here, central falls is the nastiest, most drug infested city I can think of. I told the officer that I wouldn't want to disrupt the dope dealers and hookers with my boom.Next time I will pretend I didn't hear him yell PULL OVER..........FTP!!!!!

dude nort andover sucks major ***... there all rich people that live there and if they see a car that is less than a mercedes...ull get pulled over
specially if u have mods......my boy also lives in lawrence and he says that he gets pulled over in NA for his mods all the time it has become a joke already The exhaust IS legal for Mass. To be on the safe side though, you should stick to things that are C.A.R.B. legal. Mass has pretty strict laws about emissions, CARB is a Cali certification. If it's legal in Cali, then it's legal here. As far as lights go.... The only colors you can have on the fron of your vehicl are white, or amber. White turnsignals ARE legal for the front, but not for the rear. In the rear, you can only have RED (for parking, brake, or turn), AMBER (for turn only), and WHITE (for reverse). Under no exception can you place bulbs, or filters, of other colors in the lamps. Unless you are "offroad". (I.E. a car show, or on personal property, but not on the street, or a public way)
Ok i know it's a pain in the ***. I've been to court TWICE. Once for my projectors, witch have an SAE/DOT stamp on the, with a license number... And another time for intake/exhaust (K&N FIPK, Invidia sus304), BOTH legal. The exhaust is CARB certified, and the intake is exempt. Both times the magistraight was very nice, came out to the vehicle. Also I still have the paprework from the intake, and exhaust. He even agreed with me that it was a waste of all of out time.

I live in ny and got pulled over for my skunk2 exhaust. Cop was a jerk. Only time I got hassled(knock on wood). I talked to ny state trooper and he said we got better things to worry about. Anyway I heard on the sema website that mass. is trying to make any exhaust modification illegal(that sucks)- I feel for u guys the cops and lawmakers in alot of states are being ***** about car modifications. Whos car is it anyway? Last time I checked it was my car-weird!
As far as eliminating ALL modifications...
GFY. It just won't work. I feel as long as it can meet the CARB certification, then there shouldn't be a problem. If you look up the CARB certification program, it's not that bad. The sound requirement is 95db. Do you know how LOUD that is?
Friggin loud!!! Why anyone would want an exhaust louder than that is beyond me. If you do however need a "freeflow" for racing purposes, than you won't be using it on the street... Right? There also have been modifications to racing exhausts. I know when I drag a motorcycle, I'm now required to use a baffell. All in all, it's just somthing EVERYONE is going to have to get over. I did, thats why I chose to go with an exhaust thats legal for use in CA...

We were down town one night and my boyfriend got pulled over in his WRX for an illegal muffler tip and the cop wrote him a ticket. To the cops defense The WRX has no cats and a full exhaust but the cop had no f'ing clue. Anyways my bf talked to one of the Worcester cops he knows and the cop said that it was a complete bullshit ticket and that in a challenge the cop who pulled him over will have no valid proofand basically they guy was just trying to be an *** and clear out down town.
^^^ thats how most cops in my area are. as soon as they see a car that has any mods they will follow it around till they find something to pull you over for. then if you question the cop about the mods most have no clue what to say or what the law is about them.
Same **** happens to me man. I live in the northwest corner on connecticut. Small *** towns. Not many hooked up cars like mine. I get pulled over and searched probably like 2 times a month. State troopers are our cops so they love to pull me over. **** em man

No he didnt give me a ticket only a verbal warning so it really didnt bother me all that much except for the fact that i had somewhere to be. I wasn't speeding either he actually got on the highway pulled up next to me looked at me and then pulled behind me to pull me over. (going about 70mph) I dont know the exact time but it was just after dusk. I do have a resonator and my car doesnt sound like a lawn mower. It has a deep nice tone to it.
