I usually just shop on the net. Check out the prices that I paid for my parts (click on vroom vroom). If you ever find better prices for any of my parts in a performance shop, then let me know. I'll start looking for one myself.
For northeastern Massachusetts I know that there is a performance shop in Marblehead (I guess that's not totally the northeast part of the state). I can't remember the name right now but let me know if this is close enough to where you're looking. (you can do Mapquest to see where Marblehead is .... it's about 20 miles north-northeast of Boston).

All over the place. So far I've bought from:
www.fiberimages.com rep. (carbon fiber hood)
www.optauto.com (AEM/Nissin brake pads)
www.groupbuycenter.com (Brembo corss-drilled/slotted rotors and Tsunami T2001)
www.scosche.com (speaker spacers)
www.thezeb.com (speakers)
Tasuke Moto through eXNBP and Mark (DC Sports polished front strut bar)
www.umsracing.com (AEM polished CAI)
The last two were the best prices that I could find, but are kinda sketchy. The first, Mark is actually okay. He did screw up an invoice, but I already paid him the proper amount through PayPal, so no biggie (I was worried that I paid him with a card). He said that the strut bar was back ordered, but he's nice and it looks like I'll get what I wanted at the price that I wanted. There's something fishy with the last guys though. I ordered my AEM CAI through the phone and it almost seems like they were operating out of their own house? That would be okay if I actually received my CAI already. I made the order around the first of Jan. It's been 25 days and no CAI yet. I e-mailed them on Mon. of this week and no response yet. I'll call them on Fri. or maybe the next Mon. to see what's up.
Overall no major disappointments yet. We'll see what happens with that CAI. I hope it doesn't come to phoning my card company to cancel payment.

There's a place in Waltham, MA called Eastside. Just been there once. Small place run by kids 'college-aged'. I have their card at home if anyone wants any more info.

Does anyone know of any performance shops in CT? Or do I just have to stick with on-line and mail order? I'm also in the market for some 17inch wheels. I like the OZ Crono Evolution (5 spoke) but are a little bit too much $$$ any suggestions on an alternate? Any help would be nice.
ok heres my two cents in the matter, BOOST MOTERSPORT!!!!! we are in Dover NH. we specialize in jap imports especially rotary engines and 7th gen civics. we do engine work <porting and polishing> and swaps < doing one tomorrow actually>, and i can GAURENTEE we can get anything you find on the interent CHEAPER and more reliably. Also we will split the shipping with you rather than you haveing to fork over all the money yourself. we can do all instilation and for much cheaper than any other speedshop around < $35 an hour rather than the average 60 we found in other stores.> and most notabaly we do custom fabrication of carbon fiber/ carbon kevlar dashes, gagesfaces, hoods, underspoilers and whatever else you can think of. and again, we do it for MUCH cheeper than if you were to buy it from the internet. we believe that we should pass on the savings to the clients, you work hard enough for your money, and we understand that. for further details call 603-749-7199. Just ask for Fred, the owner.

I just found out about two more shops in the Boston area - RPM Motorsports, and another that I didn't catch its name, but it's two blocks up from RPM in a little hole in the side of an alley. RPM seemed to have competitive prices compared to Eastside that krepoort mentioned, but its stock is limited. As for the little place around the corner, they didn't have much, but they did have those 6 grand wheels that have the spinning arms off the front of them
