Price Gouging
So I thought I would start a topic from boredom. I tend to hang out with a lot of people who drive VW's (mainly cause they hang out by my work). Talking with these guys, even though their cars cost more than our civics, our aftermarket parts are more$. I just think this is crazy so I would share. Here's an example a 1.8t jetta chips his car for $500, exhaust $400 or custom $300, about the same prices so far, but then he drops it with H&R coilovers for $650. What the heck? There are many other items for less than our cars as well. My coworker is currently turboing his 16valve. This will cost him under $2k. Then I read an article in Euro tuner to turbo a vr6 for under $2,500.
I just can't get over the price gouging for civic's.

Maybe it's like this: More people who buy Civics modify them than people who buy Jettas. Therefore there is a higher demand for aftermarket parts for Civics than for Jettas. Wait a moment, doesn't higher demand lower prices? Yeah, here it is: Economics Basics: Demand and Supply
Yeah, so maybe our prices are higher because the quality of the product is higher?
