renting dragway
madwheel and i have been talking about renting the dragway for a 7thgencivic day.
we just need to know how many people would be interested in doing this come spring.

I might be able to work it with some guys here in order to bring the price down, non 7thgen that might be interested in going. Couple WRX's, Jetta's. I'm interested, but cost is gonna be the biggest issue as well as plenty of notice. Also, wouldn't this be better in the spring when we have our rubber/ rims on our cars.

I'd be down. But I'm assuming that this can't be cheap. So depending on cost, I'm down.

Yes cost can be a lil much but I'm down either way. keep in mind this is a full day thing. i believe it's a 6 hour rental. The limit is 25 people. Not sure what price will be, but I'll call tomorrow with some figures for an amount of people. Hopfully they'll answer the phone, if not I'll email.

Back in 2000 they just let you rent it for a flat fee (something like $1500)
FYI, I looked into it 2 years ago and....
it was $100 a person (min 10 cars), racing from 10am to 2pm, only done on Wednesday mornings, and you better book early because they go fast....
Most people don't have the luxury of taking a random wednesday off from work and spending $100 when you can go for $15 on Wed and Friday night and get in at least 3-4 runs... Plus having the benefit of other people's rubber down for traction....
Those were the details in 2002 race season, things may have changed a little since then but don't bet it's changed too much....
It is perfect for test and tunes for car clubs, I know a ton of Stang garages in NE that reserve time every month there... here and Lebenon Valley Dragway....

true that, im down if its Cost friendly... i can get someone else if we need people. some of you remember him, he is the kid with the Jetta that came to the first meet with me and also to the RUN in the mountains...
Hmmmm... about a 3 hour drive for me. Depending on the day of the week I could do it, and if you had to have another car I could arrange for a Civic to tag along with me. Let me know on a more definate date and time, it sounds like fun.
Also, do we need any safety gear like helmets?
