17s or 18s
Who here rolls on 18's. If you do let me know what you think about the roads here in Oklahoma. They suck pretty bad, but I really want some 18s also. If anyone can give me some advice or insight on which way I should go I'd really appreciate it.
Well you have to look at it this way, the bigger you go the more your ride quality will suffer. Plus you should look at cost, no so much as the rims themselves, but also the tires. I am lucky to have to hook up on both, but then again not everyone has sponsorships. Personally, I like 17's with a serious drop, but that is me. I live in Atlanta and the roads really are not that bad (for the most part) A lot, and when I say a lot I mean a lot, of people around here go for 18's or bigger. I mean if you show your car, it is somewhat the norm. I mean if that is the case (and you can afford it) go with both. 17's for daily driving and 18's for showing. I did that with my last car, but I had 16's for driving and 17's for showing. (keep in mind, this was when 17's were concidered pretty big). Most importantly you must be true to yourself. If it is 18's that you want, then is it 18's that you should get. :cool

I have 18's.... the ride quality is ok.... you can feel the bumps a lot more...... but on a flat smooth ride its like ridin on glass....
but basically what INCAEXtacy said

Well to each his own. I have 18" on my car. Depending on the type of tire, whether it be racing or street tires. You can judge your driving on that. I have low profile Nitto's.. which are
215 -35 -18"
NITTO NT450's
They drive fine on the roads. And these Carolina roads can be awful at times. Just remember to slow down to a crawl when you go over rail road tracks. They suck on tires. Next i plan to get 19's. That will look great if you get a body kit.
Depending on the kind of tire, I recommend Nitto's .. they have not worn in a year and a half. I even had adjustable coilovers with a 4" drop and never did i have any problems. They scrubbed a little cause i didnt have a camber kit. but all in all they road quite nicely. Just try these and you should have no problems. Oh, my rims are made by ICW.. kinda popular around here. But since my car was the first civic hooked up around here.. well now everyone's is... and same kinda rims too. You don't have to get 2 sets of wheels... thats crazy. Just do whatever makes you happy..

Bryan - how much of a drop do you have and have you had any rubbing problems with your 215/40's? I'll have a 2" drop with my 18's and I want to go with the 215/40's. Also have front & rear camber kits to install.
from a performance standpoint, i think 16's are the best way to go. however, for looks, 18's, but 17's if you're slammed. I say that because if you're slammed, there might be trouble with having the bigger wheels. 19's are great, but IMO they look too huge for our cars, and you can imagine how much 19" tires cost.

sorry na..rims and tires are already sold....and as far as drop i am running 215-35-19 right now and and i had to roll my back fender in order to adjust for suspension travel as far as a camber kit on the rear....ain't going happen...
Light weight 16" (Enkei) with a good fat tire for performance.
For sho, hell go 19 with low profile.
I have 18" with low profile Falkens and the Diameter is the same as the factory wheels just a lot heavier.

I just got 18's and the ride quality is a lil bit bumpier but it all depends on the tire..im running 18 inch konig verdicts with yokahoma parada spec 2's... u get used to the bumps real quick... and plus 18 and 19's look really good under our cars since the big *** tire wells... but if ur a racer... stick with the smaller rim like hector said...
