17s or 18s

17s or 18s
Ok.. So after countless months of scouring the web for rims, I've finally narrowed the list down to 5-spoke pattern rims. On top of that list is the ADR RS Limited Valkyeries. Now I'm having problems deciding between 17s (215/45/17) and 18s (215/40/18).
It seems to me that it's the drop and tire profile that make rims look larger. My current drop isn't that much (1.75" Goldline drop ~ 1.25 finger gap all around with stock hubbies). I'm opting the bigger tire size to fill the gap to 1 finger all around.
BoYrAcEr was nice enough to email me some pics of his vic with 17s (205/40/17). Now he has Ground Control Coilovers.

Now should I go with 17s or 18s on my car? The 17s look pretty good on Boyracer's ride, but the 17s will look slightly bigger on his car because of the lower profile tires and the larger drop. I'm afraid that the 17s won't look big enough on my car. On the other hand, 18s seem to fit nicely, but I don't want the rims to looking large to the point of awkwardness. Thanks for your help.

Rep Power: 0 Well I have 17" with 215/45 and I like them but looking at them I wish I would have got 18" with 215/40 I think they look better. But the less treadware I would get with the 18" scared me off, with the cost of the tires. But yeah I like the 18" IMO my next ride or if my rims get jacked I will get 18"

Rep Power: 0 Good deal yeah I ordered through whalentire.com too yeah I was debating on keeping my rims when I move since Apt living and rims don't really mix hehe. Yeah how do you like living in SD? Looking to move there its on my 2 cities the other one being Vegas

Rep Power: 0 thanks nick.. i'll post some pictures once i get them mounted. sd is a great city but there's not much to do around here besides going to the beach or hanging out downtown. it's a really easy going city but i guess that all depends on what part of sd you're planning to move to. one thing you might want to take note of is the above average living expenses and crowded roads.
