it isn't all that big really...but it ins't an oval track, you should be able to run i was able to run on labor day, this is opoen to the public as well, you ill need a helmet , i have 1 myself, but in our class we will be running right after another so sharing may be a problem, i might be able to get 1 possibly 2 more but i dunno...i got mine off ebay for cheap, there is a paper you sign stating if you are 18 or older i think..i dunno i didn't read it last time, they never check my firends id and he's 17..
Hey, i might be interested in going if my car wasnt going to be planned to be in the shop by then. Also, I got a couple of hockey helmets, would that work?

I'd go. But I'm in the same boat as some others... No racing helmet, and I'm a Noob at AutoX, but I'll be more than willing to make an *** of my self in the interest of fun. Also have a hockey helmet.
I gotta drive up from Fort Wayne, but I'll do it. Also missing SCCA membership . Hopefully no problem. Does it get really busy? Pass me some more info... krausej@purdue.edu

Pass me some more info... krausej@purdue.edu I went to one a long time ago in my BMW 2002. It was a lot of fun and I took third in my class. The helmet thing is not a big problem, i didn't have one and somebody let me use theirs. You have a minute between runs, so sharing is not a problem. They are very strict on loose items in car, glovebox and trunk though so leave all your crap at home. If it ain't bolted in its got to go. Also make sure your battery is secure. I'll try to make it but I'm supposed to work. I'll know more soon.

last time i went the had 2 cars on the track at any given time..one jsut about to end and one jsut starting, i barrowed my firends helmet at the time, i shold be able to barrow it again, no SCCA membership wont be a problem they even gave pricing for non members..20$, i'm not sure if that is per event (last time it was 2 runs per event) i'll see what info i can get. if you can..it would be best to leave loose items at home and also if you know ANYONE wiht a helmet see if you can barrow it it must be DOT or atleast SNELL 95 approved ( or just go to walmart/kamart and get a motorcycle helmet) but make sure that it is either DOT or SNELL 95, 99, or 2000 approved. they are pretty strict on that. plus make sure that all lugs are tight and you have all lugs...on jack *** had 3 lugs on his and they wouldn't let him race eheheh...

I am going... this is now definite. So I'll see you there, or where ever it is that you plan on meeting. If it's not at the Tire Rack, tell me where then. I'll probably be there too early, I want to leave myself enough time to find my way back if I get lost on the way. Just picked myself up a helmet too. So I'm all set to go.

New info for drivers under 18
I finally got an answer back from the national office concerning
participants under the age of 18. A waiver, signed on site by both parents,
is required. We have the forms. This may appear to be a big inconvience, but
with strict rules made by lawyers and extra protection for minors, we have no
choice. I spoke to the lawyer who wrote the rule. By no means do we want to
discourage minor participation as long as the parents both sign the waiver.
For next season, a signed waiver is good for all year. Please e-mail back if
you have questions. See you on Sunday.
