i recently purchased a yonaka catback exhaust but the header i have on my d16y8 has a cat integrated into it. what cheaper headers can reach my yonaka catback?

D16y8 has the separate cat under the car. D16y7 has the intergrated cat. Something is not right with your car. Either way the bolt/port pattern is the same. If you search d16 header in amazon/ebay/whatever you'll find one that fits the engine. Whether or not it will connect to the rest of the exhaust depends on what is going on underneath the car.

i bought the car off fb marketplace and he said he built it up. first thing i noticed was the y7 header on the y8 but i didnt pay much attention. after going under the car i noticed that there was nothing attached to the header. no downpipe no midpipe, only muffler hanging onto the back so he didnt get pulled over. but the yonaka exhaust says it fits under a 97 civic hatch so it should route fine

well i hope you didn't pay too much for the car. I'm sure you'll find lots of other "fun surprises".
so if you buy a header, you already have the catback, you just need a cat. And yes you should run a cat.
