Quiet Axle Back? Aftermarket drone...

Hello, I just got a 99 DX hatch. I got it for a $700, it needed a few things fixed.. one of them being a small crack in the exhaust manifold. I did not want to spend a lot of money on it, so I got a Megan header and an off brand stainless exhaust (I believe 2.25"). I added a 27" glass pack into the line to try and quiet it down, but it has a terribly loud drone in the lower rpms. If I put the silencer baffle in the end of the muffler it goes away completely, but feels choked up in the high rpms.

I was wondering if a name brand or decent off brand muffler would improve the situation. I could always weld a flowmaster box muffler on, but that would look pretty trashy. The system as it sits has two existing glass packs, with a third 27" pack that I added. The axle back muffler is relatively short.

Thank you

Chris
