Re: Adding HP

A horse in the front - they add no extra mileage. Ferrari emblem works as good - they are a horse anyway.
Seriously, now, worthy power mods are not easy if yours is a non-Si (US) or Non-SiR (CA).

Ah, Ok, found it, you posted a question on the Introduction forum instead of introducing yourself. Yours is a EX, so it's one of the hard-to-get HP models, sorry.

Re: Adding HP

prepare a lot of grass for the horses...
The minimum is the crower stage 1 cam, 490 bucks new. and won't give you 30 grass-eaters without intake/exhaust on a D17A2. Lots of guys have history on trying that. Woops. yours is a 2k, so it's not a D17

And if it's a LX, the best you can get is 3 ponies from Intake and exhaust. don't believe in ads....

Re: Adding HP

K&N filters are good, but you need to take some time and research. Adding 50hp is a big deal and it would take at LEAST $2000.

An authentic K&N intake alone would be your entire budget.

Re: Adding HP

Yeah man. Intakes aren't going to add any noticeable amount of oomph....especially to a Civic. If you want any power, you're gonna need pretty much all the stuff that was listed earlier, intake, headers, exhaust, cams. Gonna be a pretty penny.

Re: Adding HP

To add that kind of hp you are talking a high compression setup on the vtec block, which is going to get costly since you will need to build the bottom end a bit. I have a 98dx with the nonvetc motor and its got cold ait intake/K&N filter, DC header 4-2-1 catless to an apexi catback with full msd ign system and I am probably just around the same specs as the vtec motor or a little less, the D series motor does not get much from a bolt on unless you talk cams or other internals. Bisimoto makes cams for the D series and yes there are some D series out there that make great power but they are built up engines. Here is the link for you; http://bisimoto.com/store/index.php?...h=5_9_66_70_81

Re: Adding HP

Save your money and get an ebay intake tube then pair it with a k&N filter, they are much lower cost than a K&N tube, then pick up the filter that fits your tube. The previous owner got his aem intake for my car for $40 bucks used.

Re: Adding HP

When I went through my Paul Walker phase, i bought an intake for my Corolla. just be careful that the pipe is thoroughly cleaned. The one i got off of ebay has stuff still inside the pipe. just a heads up for ya.

No problem. Most of us started with intakes. I'm still saving up for my exhaust system. Just waiting for something to make me pull the trigger.....

194s I think? Here is a diy for you; http://www.diymyhonda.com/civic/inst...-light-change/ also check out superbrightleds.com they are good site and opt for the more expensive ones the cheaper ones tend to look faded a bit once you put power to them.

Re: Adding HP

well the power options pretty much boil down to 3 routes.

~NO2 (nitrous oxide injection) possible to build off $500 (before tax, unless you buy used)

~turbocharged, well over $3000 (before tax, unless you buy used)

~swaping out your engine for another, don't worry about this it would cost far more then your car, better off to buy a new car, like an acura rsx-s with the k20 engine in it.

i have over $2100 into my car for mods and probably havn't made any real power, yet.
