Crazy Intake Sound?

Crazy Intake Sound?
Here's a question. I have an AEM Short Ram intake on an otherwise stock 01 Civic EX. I'm getting a noise that kind of sounds like a hiss when I take my foot off the gas or when I turn the car off. Imagine the sound of a really week B.O.V. Should my intake be making that sound? I talked to some people that have CAI but no one I know has the short ram intake. Please help!

Rep Power: 0 yes, i love that sound too, its just the engine sucking air, that filter is big ya know, i love even more, the sound of the vtec kicking in when i got the cold air pipe in, so deep, so angry!

Remember that an intake alone will yield minimal gains...in fact, it's more noise and pose factor than anything, and I doubt you'd feel any faster. That said, I love my Injen RD! Nice growl in the low end, screams in the upper RPMs. And the sound of it when starting up and shutting down the engine is great...scares my mom, she can hear it from inside the house! However, I can't hear the hiss between gears when I let up on the gas. Maybe I should turn the damn radio down.

Rep Power: 0 You do get some power from just the SRI. Since you've changed the air flow, you change were you receive the power. Before the intake, my car would never go over 5500rpm. Now that I have the SRI, I have more power at the high end. Now I'm getting up to 6500rpm. With a header and exhaust, I'll even be better in the high end. It comes at a cost though. The get up and go from the line has got up and gone. I'm noticing a lag! Hopefully a pulley kit will help out. It should increase my pull off the line!

Rep Power: 0 Injen RD CAI sounds like a freaking cat-back exhaust when you step on it. Especially when VTEC engages. Talk about loud intake ...
