does anyone know of any motor mounts
does anyone know of any motor mounts or inserts they got for our car? i rather have inserts really, some polly ones? anyone got any suggestions?
Hey, I know that Energy Suspension now has motor mount inserts for our cars. BUT I can't find any place online where I can buy these... Does anyone know of an online shop? If I ask at a local shop, they usually overcharge here.
All I could find was stuff for the 6th gen and earlier.

I read somewhere that you can take out the stock mounts, and fill them with polyurithane calk. It said to fill around the rubber thats there now, and you will get almost the same results as with inserts. you can get the calk at any hardware store, its used to seal windows.
I dont know how well it works, but you could always try it.. and if there isnt a difference then just buy the inserts.
not sure if i spelled calk right... anyway i think you know what i mean lol

Waiting for the motor mount inserts...
Thx for the info. I contacted Summit Racing and they did carry them. Just don't have them in stock just yet. Ordered them and they should get to me in 2 weeks.

Hello. Here is your motor mount part numbers and the prices. Parts marked B/O after the price means it must be ordered. It generally takes 2 weeks to get parts that are listed as backordered. You can order online by placing the part number in the box on the left side of the web page. The box will say "enter your summit part number" Please enter my SALES ID of 1318 in the appropriate box on the order form. If you do not order online, you can contact me direct at 1-800-230-3030. My extension is 6817. I work from 9:00am until 7:30pm eastern standard time.
ENS-16-1111G MOTOR MOUNT INSERT BLACK $22.99 B/O
ENS-16-1111R MOTOR MOUNT INSERT RED $22.99 B/O
If I can be of further assistance let me know.
Thanks for your interest in Summit Racing,
Boyd

DH-Racing can polyurethane your stock motormounts. Gauranteed to withstand 1000hp engines.

Well, I'm getting CRAZY wheel hop. I can't even launch at 2000 RPM anymore (how sad is that?). I've read here that these will help. I probably shook my engine loose launching so often.

If you take off instead of doing a drop launch you wont get hop.
Also, if you use ease into it for a few test runs then you'll heat up those tires and they wont wanna hop so bad on you. .

I feel pretty incompetent. I just got the motor mount inserts today. Was able to find 3 out of the 4 mounts. Here's a diagram from www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. I wasn't able to find the one closest to the firewall. I was only able to find the 2 on the sides and the one up front.
Does anyone have pics of their motor mount inserts installed?

Does anyone have pics of their motor mount inserts installed? My diagram that came with my mounts said that the two small ones go in the front and my two big ones go behind the engine. I covered up the instructions because of the copyright but left what could be found on www.hondaautomotiveparts.com.
I've heard this will get rid of my wheel hop. If anyone's read one of my old posts, I can't even even launch at 2000RPM without wheelhop. My tires (Yoko AVS ES100) stick pretty well too.
It looks like I won't have to put anything on the side mounts from the instructions.

http://www.suspension.com sells them.
If you want to know where I got mine, I got them from Summit Racing. I wrote about it in this thead. I even put the code for the item so I was able to order it online. It just had to be manually entered because it wasn't in stock. Neither were most places (all on backorder) but they were pretty helpful.
Okay, I finally got the motor mounts in and here are some of the things that changed.
The car launches better and I'm not sure if I'm imagining this but braking I seem to stop more level.
My car is crazy noisy now. The stiffening is carrying the engine vibration throughout the chassis. I haven't had a chance for someone to rev my engine while I was outside.
Taking turns is pretty much the same except when I accelerate. That part is a little better. Otherwise, my car still turns like crap because of the abuse I've put it through.

I saw your post on motor mount inserts and was wondering if this helped much. My car has 90k miles and is starting to shift a little when shifting at lower rpms..like i can feel the motor move in the tranny.
Thanks for your input...Brian

If you can get under your car it'll take you a few min for the front. The back ones needed to be trimmed and that took around an hour to get it to the right shape and getting the rear mount off. The rear mount gave my mechanic a bit of trouble as my pipe was sorta in the way and you needed a bit of dexterity to get it out. But he got it back in and my ride takes of like mad.
They work. Braking feels a lot more linear too but maybe that's my imagination.
And I found that after having my tires rotated, a lot of the vibrations disappeared too (not all). And my turning is much better. Either my previous front tires were worn, misaligned or had the wrong air pressure but that problem was fixed.

If you want to be able to drive your car hard, then yes. You'll save your car from damage when you drop the clutch at 3000-5000 from a stop with good tires... Instead of your engine bouncing, your car will fly forward.
I didn't install them myself. But I was there when the mechanic did it. It seemed a lot easier when he was able to stand under the car. It was lifted up.
It did make a bit of vibration but that's the trade-off. It was only when the car was idling when that bothered me. Once you're past 1500 RPM the vibration won't be as easily felt. You can maybe have someone tinker with your idle speed.
The car sounded a lot meaner tho. And I had stock exhaust. The engine sound was deeper too.
