It depends on if you want high end power or low end power?
4-1 more power in high RPMs
4-2-1 more power in low RPMs
But which every you decide you will not see very much of a gain from it maybe 1-2 hp. You need to search for your answers. As for prices use the parts category to find them. As for the left over money, it all depends on you. get more bolt-ons or get a body kit.

Ouch, 1-2 horsepower is really steep. Our cars dont get a lot of gains from simple bolt ons, but with a good header that eliminates the cat, you can free up about 5-7 roughly.

Kamikaze

You can get the Kamikaze header for the DX/LX models through their site or through any shop, whichever you prefer. It is indeed a cat eliminator header, the only one for the DX/LX models.

There are tons of other brands to, like DC Sports, OBX, Arospeed, Skunk2, etc., but I dont think any of them make any for the DX/LX models, and word of mouth is that the DC Sports blows anyways for our cars.

The guy at my Chicago shop says the Kamikaze for our cars kicks *** and is basically the only one out there for the DX/LX models, but, it is a cat eliminator header, which means you wont pass emmissions, and you will have to swap your stock header back in when you go for testing.

I plan on getting the Kamikaze sometime in March for my DX. Cant wait to get it on.

Aside from saving up for a turbo, you can go for an underive pulley kit, cam gear, ignition plugs, ignition wires, and if you would like to throw a nitrous kit on, you can upgrade your fuel system by upgrading your rail, regulator, filter, etc. You can also get a throttle body and intake manifold when they do come out for our cars.

The possibilities are endless. Just dont let people get you down by telling you are cars wont be shiz with the things there are to do. Do what you want and what you feel makes you happy.

Kamikaze header is your only option because you just buy a LX exhaust but you will have no cat = gain in power

You can't use other headers such as HP because they are for EX. If you want to use the HP header you need to do the front EX sway bar conversion and use EX cat back exhaust.
