I need help...
I have read so many peoples opinion about all engine upgrades but it would help to get some people to just come here and tell me best. Yes, civics are slow but I dont care, I just want to beat all other civics (besides SI) in a 1/4 mile. I have auto too dont make fun of me I realize its not as good but at least I can't screw up shifting. I am thinking intake(maybe manifold too), header(not sure 4-1 or 4-2-1), cat back exaust(not sure on which kind)cam gear, pulleys, and maybe chip. Reminder I am 17, but I do have cash just dont tell me to buy things that cost like 5 grand THANKS. I dont know what 1/4 I would get with that and dont care for now. If any other suggestions on upgrades that would help me I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks for all your help, and dont flame on me. I have 1 pic of my ride......but its from long time ago, I will get recent pics up soon.
Ok, just so you know it's gonna take a good bit to get your auto to take a manual. If you are interested in beating other civics, odds are you won't be racing stock ones.....
I sure wish my car was newer

Hey man, I'm seventeen too, so I know how the money is. What you're saying you want is really vague. You said basically "I want the fastest Civic out there, but I don't want to spend a lot." Well, sorry, but you'd be lucky to hit 150hp with the stuff you're talking about. To beat all other Civics, you will need AT LEAST a turbo, if not a swap. My car is also auto, and I don't know if you can drive a manual or not, but there is a good chance that you're going to get frustrated and quit trying to make it fast because of a few reasons... 1) you can never get as good of a launch off the line with an automatic transmission 2) you'll wear out the tranny if you use nitrous oxide at the very least, or possibly just destroy it because the Civic autos seem to not be too great 3) you'd have to do a lot of work to do a swap (even redo part of the interior) because the Si and RSX-S engines take manuals unless you wanna pay even more to get it set up for an auto.
If you want to beat other Civics, but and old hb or a CRX or a del Sol and do a swap. You'll fly.

LOL yes I guess I was vague there. When I say beat other civics. I am just talkin here in Indiana that are all mostly stock cept for rims. I know I can't beat good manual drivers. Turbos, superchargers, Nitrous, all not for me. Too expensive for just that. FOr the parts I listed...I just want input on what kind to get like for header HP or DC ect. Crap like that. Where I live most people just have nice looking inline 4s. A lot of people can't drive their manuals to save their life so I am not as worried. A couple of my friends are good, but thats about it. I do appreciate your input though.
Infamiz i know what your sayin. I have an auto 2k2 vic. i have exhaust, intake, and header. after a while i relized that automatics are just slower than stick. i raced a 5speed 2k2 vic with exhaust and intake and got whooped by like 3-4 cars. im not tryin to put you down, just letting you know that its gonna take alot to make the auto as quick as a 5speed.

Be careful. Some intakes for our cars can reduce hp, I've heard. I have a K&N FIPK, which is a short ram intake with a heat shield and I am very happy with it. It adds about 4 hp, and also sounds cool once you're at 4k rpm or above. You sound like you're interested in parts for performance and not for just sound, so that's cool. That's why you need to be careful: just about anything will change your sound, but only certain things will give you more power.
Since you have an auto, read my Guide to Drag Racing in an Automatic. It's sticky at the top of the Street Encounters forum.
The hp racing header will give you about 14hp (they say), but it's also illegal so if that's a concern for you... be careful. Other headers are less powerful but are still legal.

Whats up man!
Here are my thoughts on souping up your civic if you have the cash.
1. Get the Jet chip mod which will boost your fuel to air ratio along with other things which equals more horses.
http://www.jetchip.com/
2. For about $480 you can then get IGNITION SOLUTION's plasma ignition coils for the civic which will increase your spark for the boosted fuel ratio this will increase combustion and will burn the fuel more than stock coils and produce more horse power.

3. Then if you are going to get an exhaust systemm that is all a mtter of preference. loud or or not so loud. For not so loud just get the DC header and the DC exhaust. Or for loud get any type of other system. But buy one that has a silencer just incase you doun't like it that loud.

4. Intake. Well. Maany people think that the cold air intake is the way to go; however, this is wrong. You have to lower the air temp 1 degree to one horse power and the intake doesn't make that much of a difference. But it looke cool. Be wared that if you get an intake get a good one with a good rep. If I were you get a AEM short or cold air intake. If you get the cold air intake BUY an air bypass valve. go to AEM's web site to learn more. http://www.aempower.com
5. For the Pulley I have heard great things about AEM Pulley kits. They are light and have good power gains. check them out http://www.aempower.com
Well; those are my thoughts on the soup up for the civic.
