Injen Race Division Cold Air Intake
Someone said that theres no gains for an automatic? I have an EX auto coupe.... and I DEFINITELY feel more power, and the engine revs much easier... it used to bog down and lag before, and downshifts are a lot quicker. Has anyone ran an EX Auto on a dynojet with the Injen CAI? I emailed Injen but got no response. And before you guys start flaming, I already searched every forum for an answer. Thanks.

Dude, its an auto. You aren't gonna get as much power as a stick from an intake. You are just lying to yourself if you think AK is wrong. He knows his stuff. Even manuals only get 3 hp at the most out of an intake.

SOrry I dont think 1 HP is noticable like that.. some of my friends rode in my car whove ridden in there before and they dont know about cars, and i dindt even tell them i added a CAI and they were like your car feels faster than b4, what did you do to it? Anyway you people need to show me some proof before I can buy that 1 HP... i mean look how restrictive our stock boxes are... The RSX Type S gained a full 20 HP with an Injen CAI .. that was proven... your telling me my civic only gained 1? Im guessing in the 7-12 range. NO LOWER

This is hilarious!!!! HAHAHA , we need HondaGuru to join this thread!
50% of the gain might be mental like someone said, "it must add power since i paid for it!"
I believe the CAT converter and plastic intake manifold restrict too much airflow, therefore not giving us full HP gains. Go take your civic on a dyno w/ stock air box and then on another run with your CAI.
Then come back and call me a liar.

I'm not calling you a liar, but I'm also not believing what you're saying unless you have the dyno results to prove it. Come on dude... having COLD AIR ALONE should increase HP ... let alone having a straight pipe with hardly any restrction. So your saying those two elements (not to mention the K&N cone filter)is each good for .3 HP each? Oneof my friends who works at a tuning shop dynoed a previous generation civic w/ and w/o a K&N drop in and THAT ALONE gave that car one horsepower.... your talking a CAI here dude.. WITH A HIGH FLOW FILTER... GET REAL

20 hp with an intake........now that is total bull......i can't imagine how you believe this. Even injencivic who lives for injen intakes would recognize that now car will make that much gain on just an intake. Your friends probably heard the loud sound and therefore think you've got more power. Even if you have intake, header, and exhaust you would be lucky to see 20 hp gain.
The first step to recovery is admitting that you are fooling yourself by wanting to believe this imaginary hp gain. Show me the dyno chart from the RSX that made 20 hp just on an intake.
EDIT: Yes, where is Joe when you need him?

The RSX-S article was an in import mag last month or 2 mos ago and they tried on different intakes... and the Injen CAI yielded highest gains and it was FACT that it gained 19.8 HP and 20.X Lb ft of torque.... yes even the magazine editors wereVERY suprised..... trust me I know that most of performance parts are mostly hype, but I truly believe that the CAI is HIGHLY functional regardless of what car you drive, and 1 HP doesnt cut it for me... besides I payed 50 bucks for my CAI.. so i could care less how much HP it made per price I paid

Oh and I made a mistake, it was the AEM that gained the highest.. I got this from RSXWORLD.COM.. here are the exact TRUE proven #s.
Injen - +9.2hp, +2.9lb-ft torque
AEM CAI - +20.7hp, +5.3lb-ft (they didnt believe it at first)
AEM Short Ram - +5.4hp, +4.9lb-ft
DC sports DAC- +9.2hp, +2.4
DC sports CAI- +19.7hp, +5.7
Jackson Racing Short Ram- +7.8hp, +4.2
K&N drop-in- -0.1hp, 0lb
K&N Typhoon- +7.4hp, +3.1

So it's clear than on this site...
1 person (YOU) believes the Injen CAI gave you from 7-12hp
vs.
the rest of the 5700 members who know our engines are not so responsive to bolt-on's. In short we know it gave us 1hp or so.

Where's the other 5,698 members at? So far, only two members swore by a "1 hp" gain...even though they have NO proof. Tell me something... where do you get the "1 hp" number from? I'd like to know.

From previous threads saying the same old crap.
So you believe that intakes give you 7-12hp?
You must also believe that an exhaust system will give you 10-15hp then!
I prove you wrong on the exhaust

So then my # goes up to 6,097 members whose opinion is unaccounted for. Again... you guys need to show me the proof of "1 hp" before I will buy it. Sounds fair enough huh?

I dont' know why you are looking for performance out of your automatic anyways. Manuals stock will own you all day long even if you have I/H/E with you claimed 100hp gain.

i run an auto with an AEM SRI...and you don't get much gain @ all, but ya gotta love the sound it make...love the small growling noise hahaha, and i'm sure it'll be ther same for the injen CAI. like ak said...1 or 2 hps @ max. The fact that you brought up an RSX-S shows how much you really know. You compared an RSX-S with a K series engine to a civic with an D (piece of crap) series engine...
they don't compare...

I'm not COMPARING THE TWO MOTORS YOU ILLITERATE MORONS! Get that straight! I am only using the RSX-S chart as an EXAMPLE of how COLD AIR directly affects HP numbers. You guys STILL havent proven to me your claim of a one horsepower gain. Emphasis on the word STILL.
