Let's make a list of parts that add performance.

Yes, this is a good idea because some people are interested in making their car go faster.

Alright, so the purpose of this thread is just as the title states. If you have done something to your car that made it perform better (accelerate faster or better handling, nothing else), list the mod and how it helped you.

Here is an example of a good reply: "I got XXX intake and my 0-60 time decreased"

Here is an example of a stupid reply: "Oh DaYuM Mah BoMB ExHauSt MaKeS My CaR SOunD LouD As A ****!!!!"

It should be obvious, but I will state it anyway: the first reply was good because it lists a modification that increases performance. The second one was not because sound is not performance.

So, go for it. Hopefully this will end a lot of the "is this a good mod?" questions.

Alright here are some for 6Gen but MOST carry over here goes:

exhaust : DC NOT TCS (very good for MID TO HIGH END WITH MINIMAL LOSS TO TORQUE) HELPED SPEED ALOT!

intake: AEM CAI BEST investment for quicker times. ACTUALLY WORKS YEAH GOOD JOB AEM!!! headers: DC (again) 4-1 the 4-1 is crucial becuase it allows it to flow better (better flow) better times!

throttle body : HOLY CHRIST can we all praise EDELBROCK? they are the men! GREAT JOB GUYS (enough said) some 10 HP gain ACTUAL @ the DYNO I KNOW! WOW

Shifter: great idea if you have older gen to go with ss kit. I have driven the revo kit and the new ones and they REALLY do help alot! get some bushings while you are at it for the older gens though you'll thank yourself later!

wings: ok GOOD and bad of them ASIDE from cosmetics.
Good: they sit the *** of my car FLAT now when i am at speeds of above 100. use to bounce around ALOT Bad: people biatcch rice all the time! they are somewhat creating the reverse affect of what you alokoing at but NOT really. jsut coz it is FWD doesnt mean it CANT have a rear wing. In case you are wondering i have the T2 wing except it is made by a Japanese company NOT JSP.

These are the things I have found to work on my 00 Si I hope this helps some people and I will be more than willing to answer questions about others considering I have at least tested seems like millions of mods and kinda rated them mentally good vs. bad

i don't have it but it will definitely improve performance, especially 1/4 times:

a clutch

be it from ACT, Exedy, or Clutchmasters, delivers power to the ground with prejudice-->no tire spin and lower e.t.'s

You are not going to get any of the responces you desired because nobody has dyno'd thier car, therefor nobody has any actual proof of gains.

youre wrong, your "im wanna take off" T2 wing does nothing but increase the drag coefficient and look like garbage. youre either

a) imagining the "gain" in traction that an atrocity like this created because you have 0.00 taste, people tell you, and you have to make up
a stupid excuse as to why you purchased it.
b) cannot drive worth crap, thus making the back end of your car bouncy.

ive pushed my wingless/spoilerless ex to 120 and i dont suffer from a bouncy rear end.

i don't need a dyno to know a clutch from Exedy or ACT will improve getting power to the wheels quicker and lowering a 1/4 time. it obviously won't be lowered by 2 seconds, but every tenth counts

If the clutch you have has enough holding power for the power you have putting a clutch with more pressure is not going to help et's.

RSX 19mm rear sway bar.

tahts the only thing that made a noticeable difference.. in all these things I've got (spend over 700 bucks on things)

and that sway bar that cost me 80 bucks is the best.

oh yeah. I really think the ebay header I got helped my low and mid range.. I think I lost like a few mph in the top speed though.

I'm going to get some header wrap and see how well it works after that. so far I'm running stock again... let me see if there is any difference.

well i would jsut like to bring up a couple of POINTS FIRST off, don't judge my taste coz YOU AREN'T me and my Si will take your car. HANDS DOWN.

I really hate it when people try to tell you what to do with YOUR car. I'll make you a deal you can do ANYTHING you want all it will cost you is the cost of my Si. Then you can have it and do whatever you want with it. End of biatching.

Second on the CONSTRUCTIVE side of things in regards to your pinging noise from your new plugs, check the wires are all SECURELY snapped in place that will make that noise if they are a little off or one of the connectors got loose during removal then installation.

Finally i don't want to get into a fight I really respect a lot of the things you have said on here and no matter how many times people say i got this or i got this I ALWAYS stay out of it because it is THEIR TASTE and they can choose what to do with THEIR $$$.

Skunk2 exhaust... for increased high end power.

HP race header 4-1 with high flow cat... so far the best performance part for our cars. If more people took advatage of it, I bet they'd stop complaining about their car.

Yokohama Avid H4 195-60-15 for Firestone replacements... you'd have to drive completely nuts for the tires to break traction.

Agreed - RSX anti-sway bar improved cornering stability
AEM CAI feels like it loses a little on the bottom end, but picks up some on the top end.
This could have been a GREAT thread.

JET Performance re-programmed my ECU for my mods.
It took about .2 seconds off of my 1/4 mile time.
It was only 229 throught the JC whitney catalog.
Just my 2 cents

Clutch does improve performance. Its would not only give a longer lasting clutch life, but there would be less gear slip between the shifts, which would improves times.

steering wheel wouldn't do anything...

A wing alone definitely won't do anything. Unless you have a front spoiler (one that gives more downforce than the wing), your car would just understeer more.

Cold air intakes, headers, exhausts do improve performance, but is pretty negligable for our cars.

Custom turbo's gives a noticable boost in performance (so they say), but its also $3k ... a little too over-inflated.
