AEM CAI CAN YOU FEEL THE DIFFERENCE?
Hey guys am going to buy a AEM CAI for my civic. How much more power willl this give you? Can you feel the difference? Also was going to buy the by pass valve. Do you suggest it? I live in Los Angeles, so it only rains for maybe 2 months out of the year. Any info would be helpful. I'm paying 250 all together for installation and the bypass is that a good price? THANKS GUYS!

low end? I lost low end with a CAI, and SRI. and I also lose my top speed. so torque is definitely gone somewhere.
for 250, u might as well get the K&N FIPK that everyone seems to love so much and install it urself. and not worry about bypass valve or anything.

Bypass valve? It's only $30. You can get one or just make the intake a SRI temporarily.

bypass valve only works when the filter is fully submerged... it wont stop water splashing on the filter...
either way, I duno. I wanna try out the FIPK....
either way, these 2-3 hp gains aren't really anything worth screaming over.

Don't waste your money on the bypass valve. Unless you are driving
submerged in water. The bypass valve will rob you of some H.P. by also
taking in a little hot air from the engine cmpartment.
In fact, they make a water mist system for our cars intake to help keep it cool.

Ok in my opinion you gain from the CAI maybe not noticeable power, but the sound you gain from it is worth it. Don't pay 250 for it. I got mine for 200 shipped off of www.imprthorizon.com
as for the bypass valve, I had one it was pointless, so I sold my intake and got another one without the valve. The difference is noticeable there again the bypass valve blows the gain you should get from the intake so you pay an extra 50 bucks for what you have now. Plus as long as you're smart you won't need the bypass

I'd recommend it, but don't expect it to do much more than smooth out your powerband and make your engine sound nicer. It's really your choice on the bypass valve. I'd say $250 is a good price for both parts and installation.

Get the FIPK. It fits better, works well, and you don't have to worry about a bypass valve. It's also very easy to install yourself so you can save $50 on that.

Bypass valve does not allow hot air to enter the intake unless it is submerged
Get a CAI for the sound, at the very least it makes your car feel faster!
